Opposing Abstentions One Form of Mutual Cooperation to Succeed the 2019 Election
By: Martin Kisna *
Towards the implementation of the 2019 election, is it possible that the sustainability of development in Indonesia can run smoothly if the people do not use their voting rights intelligently in choosing their candidates? The most reasonable answer to this question is no. On the other hand, it is impossible for a country whose people are still consumed by hoaxes to be able to realize national development in a total and orderly manner.
Society is a major component in a country and if this main component is not educated, there is only destruction and continues to be a trojan horse, politicians who are hobby to spread hoaxes and ambitious only want power, but do not want to work hard and love their people. The facts have proven this. In many instances in some countries, countries where people cannot distinguish false information correctly will be destroyed or controlled and become a tool to fight each other so that it is difficult to progress and even become a failed state.
One other source of problems in this election edition is the proliferation of movements that invite other people to Abstentions. What is done is by intimidating certain parties against other parties so that they do not choose their choices so that they become Abstentions. Abstentions is an action that is very detrimental to the sustainability of national development. They have the opportunity to deliver Indonesia to a setback because their voices can be used by smoothing out the political goals of irresponsible individuals.
If left unchecked, irresponsible people who only focus on winning their chosen partner will really make Indonesia on the verge of decline. That is why in this 2019 election title we all must participate and use our voting rights to elect leaders and candidates for the representatives of the next five years so that the sustainability of national development will be able to run well and of quality. We must unite against Abstentions for the success of Indonesia’s national leadership and development sustainability.
