Journalists’ Association of Indonesia (PWI) Central Kalimantan Shared Free Masker to students and Press Worker

Choirul Fuadi, Central Kalimantan, CIDISS – Smog capped central Kalimantan province, especially Palangka Raya, the capital city of Central Kalimantan. The smog becomes more and more thick day by day. It disturbs people’s activity, especially on health.

Concern to the condition, Journalists’ Association of Indonesia (PWI) Central Kalimantan took initiative action.

Like quote in Antara News Kalteng, Wednesday (9/9/2105), the action shared free masker to students and press worker and symbolic shared by Chief PWI Central Kalimantan, Sutransyah and some committee of Journalists’ association, last Wednesday (9/9/2015).

The action got warm respect and good response.

Sutransyah said that they shared 1000 free masker, and distribute directly to students and press worker. The action is implementation of PWI’s care to press worker and students.

He also commented that PWI as profession organization will always do help people. It agrees with press function as social control which struggle of people’s right. One of the actions is try to connect government toward smog with social care.

“To the activity of shared free masker, we want connect government. Then they will take an action to anticipate land and forest fire. Besides that, government will take response as soon relate to the people activity disruption,” said him.
