Jakarta, CIDISS – Drug problems in Indonesia are still a serious problem. Its circulation was indiscriminate because they can target anyone in an instant of time. From the lowest level of community to state officials can be the victim of its pleasure that brings destruction. Lack of knowledge about the dangers of drugs and the growing influence of the environment is also a factor that cannot be avoided in the current magnitude of drug trafficking. Seeing the indiscriminate circulation, the effort to handle drug circulation had to be done comprehensively.

Not only targeting those who do not understand the dangers of drugs, this hazardous powder also has pervaded most officers in the state who must have more knowledge about drugs. A drug raid conducted at the Army Strategic Reserve Command Complex, Tanah Kusir, in South Jakarta, Monday (22/2) and then for example. There are at least 11 soldiers of the Indonesian National Army (TNI), the five members of the Indonesian Police, nine members of the House of Representative, and a number of other civilians were secured for being involved in this illicit goods distribution.

This condition has proved that the magic of this drug is very strong. If this condition is allowed to continue and the Indonesian people are only silence, so what this country will be? It can be ascertained that the future of this nation will be bleak and swallowed up by the enormity of the illicit goods witchcraft. Seeing these facts, no exaggeration when the government said that there were about 50 sons and daughters of this nation die every day.

The poor condition of the course must be overcome by a harder and more comprehensive effort. And, not one anyway if Indonesian President Joko Widodo in his speech said that the drug is in the first rank of the problems faced by Indonesia and its eradication should be done with more detail, more daring, more insane, and more comprehensive. Also, no exaggeration if penalties being imposed for a drug syndicate in Indonesia.

Various efforts have been made by the government, ranging from prevention to socialization, rehabilitation and persuasive ways other to the death penalty for its dealers. However, it also needs to be supported by the community by doing a crazier business and bolder in rejecting drug trafficking. We also should not be afraid to complain if our self, our family, or our colleagues become victims because the government has a program to rehabilitate the 100,000 people who are being victims of drug abuse. So, never shy to escape from the shackles of the devil drug. [MH]
