Ramadan is a holy month that awaited by Muslims. Many people feel happy because they can fast peacefully. But unfortunately there is just terror by radicals who threaten peace during Ramadan and Eid.
The fasting month is a time when Muslims are able to worship fervently. We are willing to hold thirst and thirst, from dawn to sunset, to get the reward from the Almighty. In the evening a tarawih prayer is held in the mosque and after dawn there is a short lecture from the cleric. Ramadan is a holy month full of peace and order.
But unfortunately there are only radicals who tore the sanctity of the month of Ramadan. Do you still remember when there was a bombing at the police station, in the fasting month of 2019? At the Pam Post, Kartasura, Sukoharjo, Central Java, exploded by a bomb thrown by a terrorist. Fortunately there are no casualties in this horrendous event. In fact, the bomber was injured in the hands and feet.
This terrorist act is not the first time. Previously on the anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Independence Day 2012, which coincided with the month of Ramadan, there was a shooting at the Gemblengan Security Post, Serengan, Surakarta. The perpetrator ran away immediately using a motorcycle after doing the action. This incident injured two policemen.
The next day, there is more terrorism that destroys the sanctity of Ramadan. Gladak security post, Solo, was thrown a grenade by a person who adherents of radicalism. Fortunately there were no casualties. The grenade only damaged the chair inside the pam post.
In Poso, which was once a conflict-prone area, there were also cases of assault, 15 April ago. This incident made a police victim of a shooting. A police officer named First Brigadier Ilham was standing guard in front of a private bank, then was driven by the perpetrators. The bullet went straight through the right back to the rib cage. He was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Acts of terrorism that occurred in the month of Ramadan and before fasting make people become worried. Some feel afraid to walk alone, because the evidence of crime has also increased in recent months. The terrorists who are radicals also do not hesitate to shoot the police, even though they are community guards.
No wonder that a few days before the fasting month and during Ramadan, there are many security posts on major roads and other strategic places, for example near banks and markets. The toll road and the north coast line are also guarded by alert and agile police officers. They are ready to secure the community in this holy month, so that there will be no more bombings that damage the peace of Ramadan.
When passing the security post, don’t be angry when the police conduct a raid. The aim is not to suspect, but as a way of securing terrorism by radicalism adherents. Isn’t prevention better than cure? So, it is hoped that with this search, terrorists will be caught who always make people uneasy with the action.
If you see something suspicious, for example a group of people in a rented house who rarely socialize and behave strangely, immediately report to the authorities. Not paranoid, but who knows they are radicals who are gathering to carry out acts of terror. One phone call from you can save a lot of people, and the police will take firm action if it is proven that there are terrorists there.
Bombings and attacks still tarnish the sanctity of the month of Ramadan. The terrorist even dared to stab the police and shoot at the pam post, even throwing bombs and grenades. Radicals must indeed be eradicated so that they do not spread more terror.
