Each was asked to be aware of a surge of cases Covid-19 after the long holiday Eid 1442 H. Based on experience, a new case Covid-19 always rises after a long holiday, so d ikhawatirkan can interfere with the hard work of all parties in dealing with the pandemic Covid-19.

Eid holidays are one of the potential spikes in the transmission of Covid-19, Spokesperson for the Task Force (SATGAS) for Covid-19 Handling Wiku Adisasmito reminded the potential for an increase in positive cases two weeks after the 2021 Eid holiday.

According to him, there are a number of factors that drive the potential increase. Among them is the positivity rate of specimens, which is currently experiencing a decline due to the Eid holiday.

So Wiku reminded the central government and local governments of the need to work hard in dealing with the impact of this Eid holiday.

Wiku also emphasized that the potential for an increase in cases was so high, meanwhile, the transmission of Covid-19 cases continued until May 16, 2021. This can be seen from the number of additions that reached 3,080 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

These additions have caused the total number of Covid-19 cases to now reach 1,739,750 people, starting from the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.

Dewi Nur Aisyah as the Head of the Data and Information Technology Division of the Covid Handling Task Force said the number of specimen examinations had decreased in the last few days.

According to Dewi, the average number of daily inspections fell to 56,000 specimens per day. This is possible due to the long holiday. The number of people examined in the last few days has also decreased significantly. Currently, the average number of people being examined is 37,000 per day.

Due to a decrease in examinations, in the last six days, Indonesia has only reached 65 percent of the examination standards of the world health agency, WHO.

Dewi continued, the positivity rate has increased, from 11.77 percent in April 2021 to 12.62 percent as of May 15, 2021.

For positive case figures , there are nine provinces that have experienced an increase, including Aceh, West Sumatra, NTB, Riau Islands, South Sumatra, Central Sulawesi.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in 25 other provinces has decreased. For the percentage of the use of beds in hospitals or the bed occupancy ratio (BOR) , there were 3 provinces that reached numbers above 50%. The three provinces are, Riau, Riau Islands and North Sumatra.

In addition, Dewi revealed that as many as 20 provinces in Indonesia experienced an increase in the death rate due to Covid-19. This data is based on the Task Force until May 15, 2021.

The Task Force noted that the percentage of the national death rate rose from 2.74 percent to 2.76 percent.

Meanwhile, provinces experiencing mortality rates include South Kalimantan, Bali, Aceh, DKI Jakarta, West Sumatra, Central Java, East Java, Riau, Lampung, Banten, NTT, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Yogyakarta, NTB, Central Kalimantan, Sulawesi. West, Maluku and West Kalimantan.

In addition, only 6 provinces experienced a decrease in mortality and 8 provinces with a fixed mortality rate.

Responding to this, Doni Monardo as Chair of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force said the increase in the death rate must be used as an evaluation of the handling of Covid-19 cases at the national and regional levels.

Based on data compiled by the Task Force, on May 15, 2021, the death rate due to Covid-19 in Indonesia was 2.76 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of cases of death due to Covid-19 in the world is 2.07 percent.

Therefore, Doni asked the regional head to detail the causes of the high number of deaths. According to him, it must also be ascertained whether the high mortality rate is because the patient is late in receiving treatment or is due to the decreasing stock of drugs , or whether there are relatively high comorbid factors in an area.

Of course, these factors are important to identify because the state must provide protection to citizens exposed to Covid-19.

Especially for vulnerable groups in order to get more optimal services. So that if you experience symptoms, the first priority must be treatment.

Doni also reminded that handling Covid-19 after the Eid al-Fitr holiday was a major challenge . This is because community activities are increasing as usual and population mobility due to backflow has also increased.

Therefore, health protocols must be applied anytime anywhere, as long as the pandemic status has not been revoked. In addition, it is important for all of us to avoid crowds and keep our distance so that we avoid potential transmission of the corona virus.
