Hajj Services Remain Safe Amidst Dynamic Global Conflict

Jakarta – The heated global geopolitical situation in several regions of the world has not diminished the government’s commitment to ensuring the safe, orderly, and smooth running of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

Maman Imanul Haq, a member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), assured that the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage will remain safe despite the escalating global geopolitical situation in several regions.

He emphasized that the Indonesian government, along with Saudi Arabian authorities, continues to prioritize security.

According to Maman, the Saudi Arabian government has guaranteed the security of all pilgrims, including those from Indonesia.

“Based on our monitoring, Saudi Arabia has ensured that security is a priority. Indonesia is also taking diplomatic steps to ensure our pilgrims can perform their pilgrimage safely,” said Maman.

The PKB faction legislator explained that the Indonesian government is also actively maintaining a conducive situation through international diplomacy to ensure that the Hajj pilgrimage is not affected by the developing geopolitical conflict.

He believes all parties have a moral responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the Hajj pilgrimage, as it is a humanitarian activity involving millions of Muslims from various countries.

Meanwhile, the government, through the Ministry of Religious Affairs, continues to refine preparations for the 2026 Hajj, focusing on transportation, accommodation, healthcare, and pilgrim protection.

Strengthening coordination with Saudi Arabian authorities is one strategic step to minimize risks amidst the dynamic global environment.

The Director of Regular Hajj Pilgrim Development at the Ministry of Hajj, Afief Mundzir, emphasized that strengthening international networks is a crucial factor in supporting the smooth running of the Hajj.

“Strengthening global networks is key to mitigating the Hajj. We cannot work alone in facing this complexity,” he said.

In addition to strengthening international coordination, the government is also preparing various contingency plans to address the worst-case scenario, including adjusting departure schedules, changing travel routes, and strengthening the protection system for pilgrims abroad.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has launched a public dashboard for the 1447 H/2026 AD Hajj implementation to increase transparency and ease public access to information.

The platform contains various important data related to pilgrim services, including flight schedules, accommodations, health conditions, and the location of service facilities in the Holy Land.

The Head of the Ministry of Hajj’s Public Relations Bureau, Moh. Hasan Afandi, stated that the public dashboard is part of the data- and technology-based transformation of Hajj services.

“We are presenting this dashboard so that the public, pilgrim families, and the media can easily access the latest information regarding Hajj implementation,” said Hasan.
