CIDISS – Ex Commander of Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM), Goliath Tabuni, March 2015 years ago return to the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Not only Goliath Tabuni, but also along with his 23 members. They stated that OPM is indeed the wrong ideology; the ideology came out of the desperation.
They believed that the nation of Papua race, during live in marginal; live in difficult and less attention of the Government. In fact, it is not so. The Government through its program continues to build Papua. One of them is special autonomy or better known as OTSUS.
This proves that opinion about less government’s attention to Papua is incorrect. Moreover, Papua has got special act of government via otsus. In addition, the Government always brings up and introduced the Papua as Indonesia icon from song, sports, tourism and culture as well as other aspects of Papua.
Be Trust, Papua is able to rise up, able to advance and work together with the other brothers from all corners of the country. Papua is not a small races, it is even capable of a great nation and a unified nation in the frame of the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. Not a nation who wants the hostility and divorce.
Communities and Governments will also have to be aware of the existence of alien intervention together especially in the form of press freedom who wants divisive Papua. Thus hope that development in Papua can run smoothly and its people can live in prosperity which is not just a dream only.
Then comes the opinion about OPM (Organisasi Papua Merdeka) has many compromised interests from other party, so OPM is not the ideological groups. An example of the case of Eden Wanimbo, a leader of the military faction of OPM group who most active at the moment. According to Arek Wanimbo, big Chieftain Lanny Jaya said that Enden Wanimbo was the ex head of a secondary school in Tiom, Lanny Jaya.
Enden joined and struggle in order Lanny Jaya to be separated from the Regency of Jayawijaya. He hopes, he could be a head of Department of education. The venture was successful in 2008 when the House of representative agreed to the formation of Lanny Jaya. But, Enden was disappointed, because he was not being head of Department of education. Then, Enden enters to the jungle and joined with the OPM.
The words of “independent” or “referendum” are often spoken by the elite of Papua. Such an example at a time when the Central Government postponed the discussion of the RUU Otsus until 2016, elite Papua threatens Government with words of “Referendum” or “independent”. It seems to justify the assumption that the current OPM many compromised interests, so OPM is not the ideological groups. Reasonable Government actually defer the deliberations, the Government does not want the RUU Otsus Plus it contains only the desire of the elite of Papua.
Whereas the core of Otsus Papua was an attempt to advance the potential of Papua for the people by the people of Papua customary rights by protecting people of Papua, so people can catch up with other people in Indonesia.
Jhon Taime, in blog papua-newsletter.blogspot.co.id reveals that the current Papua was colonized by his own people i.e. corruption, separatist (OPM) and other illicit Organization (illegal).
