People Doubt About FPI’s Faithful Promise to Pancasila

The use of the term khilafah Islamiyah in the AD / ART of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) triggered public rejection and hampered the extension of permits that frequently raided CSOs. Even though FPI has signed a letter of commitment to the Pancasila and does not want to repeat acts against the law, it still needs to be reviewed by the Government.
FPI has indeed signed a pledge of loyalty to Pancasila. Concretely, the pledge or pledge of loyalty to the Pancasila is not only done on paper, but must also be accompanied by deeds. But who also can guarantee if in the next 5 years FPI will not act, such as disturbing non-Muslim congregations who are worshiping for example.
The leader of the Filafelfia Batak Protestant Christian Huria Christian Church (HKBP) Bekasi, Palti Panjaitan still doubts FPI’s promise to be loyal to the Pancasila and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) as a condition for permit extension.
That was said by Palti because he still remembered FPI’s behavior in the past. Palti still remembers the time when dozens of people dressed in white with FPI labels blocked the HKBP Filadelfia Church, Bekasi in 2012.
Palti said FPI must show its sincerity if they were indeed loyal to the Pancasila and the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.
Many people already know about it, that FPI CSOs have clearly disturbed the community, countless evidence of FPI’s intolerant actions. But why not just disband all, given the benefits of FPI also still questionable.
This mass organization, which is led by Habib Riezieq, has a strategy to capture the masses, this can be seen from political events, such as the 212 action up to its reunions in volumes.
Since FPI was present, some people began to dare to say infidels and infidels, not only to adherents of other religions, even fellow believers of Islam were said to be infidels.
Especially if they support the implementation of the Khilafah in Indonesia. This certainly would be very dangerous if left unchecked. We certainly believe that Pancasila is the basis of a final state and cannot be replaced by any ideology.
So if there is a group of people who have thoughts about changing the foundation of the Republic of Indonesia, it is certainly far from distorted and dangerous, because Pancasila as the basis of the country has ‘changed’, then Indonesia automatically no longer exists and Indonesia is no longer a name.
FPI has recorded history as a mass organization that often conducts riots. As in the peaceful action organized by the National Alliance for Freedom of Religion and Belief (AKKBB), FPI launched its action by beating the participants with bamboo, not a few bloody participants, not even men who were victims, mothers who were victims even carrying his child did not escape the beating victims.
Excessive intolerance was also raised by his leadership by saying, “if Jesus was born bidannye prepared” the statement certainly does not reflect the figure of Indonesians who uphold tolerance and diversity. Of course these words are included in the category of blasphemy.
Public unrest with the presence of FPI does not need to be asked again, especially if the mass organizations ‘preaching tends to be provocative, so it is far from the impression of peace that should be shown as a religion that is rahmatan lil’ alamin.
One of the most controversial things about FPI was that when FPI leader Habib Rizieq said that Gus Dur was Blind Eye and Heart Blind, it certainly got criticism from NU circles who made Gus Dur a role model.
So it is very natural that so far FPI has only added to the stifling social life in Indonesia. Because FPI’s movements were so brutal and far from peaceful, it triggered other CSOs to take part in doing the same thing, which in turn had an impact on an unhealthy political movement.
If FPI still wants to exist in Indonesia, of course the FPI elite must know that Indonesia was raised with its friendliness not by its violence. If FPI does not uphold the unity of Indonesia, surely the disbanding of FPI should be done.
