Central Kalimantan Province Built 2.116 Solar Power Plant Units in 2015

CIDISS – The Government of Central Kalimantan through the Department of mines and energy has been built 2,116 solar power plant units (PLTS) which spread over more of the ten districts of the province in 2015. Development of PLTS in 2015 had done in 23 villages in the 11 districts of Kalteng.

The head of the Section of electrical Development and utilization of energy Central Kalimantan Province, Satria Trenggana said that the development of PLTS in more ten districts was carried out in order to maximize the utilization of new renewable energy and conducted in the remote region.

He assumed, the area had chosen because the State electrical company network (PLN) is unable to enter due to the difficult conditions of geography or at least users of electricity in the region.

Based on data, the installation of PLTS had done in the Lamandau Regency 34 units, Kotawaringin Barat 166 units, Barito Utara 134, Barito Selatan 467 units, and Barito Timur 154 unit. Murung Raya 63 unit, Seruyan 117 units, Kotawaringin Timur 230 unit, Katingan 251 units, Kapuas 430 units and Gunung Mas 62 units of PLTS.

“Besides using Regional Budget, we have also appealed to the Central Government in order to assist the provincial government in an attempt to provide electricity supply to the whole community in Central Kalimantan,” he said.
