Danantara Improves State-Owned Enterprise Structure, Encourages More Productive Asset Management

Jakarta – The government, through the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara), continues to strengthen the transformation of state asset management to increase productivity, efficiency, and national economic competitiveness. Restructuring state-owned enterprises is part of the government’s broader agenda to ensure that public assets provide greater added value for economic growth and public welfare.

Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani stated that the establishment and strengthening of Danantara’s role is a strategic step to ensure that state assets can be managed optimally and provide broader economic benefits.

“Danantara is here to ensure that state asset management is more productive, efficient, and able to create sustainable economic growth,” said Rosan.

The government considers more integrated asset management a crucial need amidst increasing investment needs and global economic competition. Through Danantara, state asset management is directed to be more adaptive, professional, and capable of generating sustainable economic growth.

According to the government, the overhaul of state-owned enterprises is not merely an institutional restructuring, but also part of developing a more modern and results-oriented investment ecosystem. Management will focus on priority sectors such as industrial downstreaming, food security, energy, infrastructure, technology, and national strategic industries.

Paramadina University Senior Economist Wijayanto Samirin believes that asset consolidation and strengthening governance are crucial for increasing the effectiveness of state-owned enterprises.

“Structuring and focusing investment management can be an important tool for increasing the productivity of national assets and improving Indonesia’s economic competitiveness,” he said.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Center of Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS), Bhima Yudhistira, assessed that the success of asset management transformation is largely determined by the consistency of implementation and the quality of governance.

“The most important thing is to ensure that every state asset generates measurable economic benefits and is managed transparently to continue to build public and investor trust,” he said.

In addition to promoting efficiency, the government is also targeting strengthening asset productivity to increase national development financing capacity and expand investment space in priority sectors.

The government is optimistic that the improvement measures taken through Danantara will strengthen the quality of national asset management while creating space for healthier and more sustainable economic growth.
