Disbursement of Forest Control Funds Marks National Natural Resource Governance Milestone

Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the transfer of forest control funds and Rp10.27 trillion to the state treasury at the Attorney General’s Office Building.

The seventh phase of the transfer is a crucial part of strengthening national natural resource management and an effort to save state finances.

The funds disbursed came from administrative fines in the forestry sector totaling Rp3.42 trillion and from monitoring of land and building tax revenues (PBB) and non-PBB taxes totaling Rp6.84 trillion. In addition to the funds, the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) also returned 2.37 million hectares of forest land to the state.

President Prabowo emphasized that the proceeds from the forest control efforts can be directly used for basic sector development, particularly health and education. He highlighted the condition of thousands of community health centers (Puskesmas) in various regions that have not been renovated for decades.

“I asked the Minister of Health how much money is needed to repair 10,000 community health centers (Puskesmas). Each community health center costs approximately IDR 2 billion. So, it will cost approximately IDR 20 trillion. And today, we can complete 5,000 community health centers,” said Prabowo.

The President also revealed the potential for additional state revenue from continued cleanup and the recovery of other assets. According to him, these additional funds will accelerate the equitable distribution of public facility development.

“Plus IDR 39 trillion from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), that’s IDR 49 trillion. This means we can easily repair all community health centers, and we can immediately repair schools that haven’t been repaired,” he said.

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin stated that the handover of the funds and assets demonstrates the Family Hope Program (PKH) Task Force’s transparency and accountability to the public. He emphasized that all funds from the cleanup will be channeled to the state treasury through the relevant ministries.

“Today, as a demonstration of transparency and accountability to the public, we are reporting and handing over the proceeds from the follow-up to the PKH Task Force’s forest area cleanup to the state through the Ministry of Finance,” said Burhanuddin.

Meanwhile, Pitra Romadoni Nasution, President of the Indonesian Association of Legal Practitioners and Legal Experts, assessed the successful rescue of state finances as an important milestone in asset recovery-based law enforcement.

“The success of rescuing Rp 11.4 trillion is not just a figure, but a symbol of the state’s courage in upholding the law and restoring the people’s rights,” Pitra emphasized.
