The government continues to facilitate the absorption of local labor for the North Penajam Paser community to be able to support the development of the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago. This is so that they can develop the quality of human resources and have high competitiveness compared to workers from other regions.

The construction of the New Indonesia State Capital (IKN) named Nusantara, which is located in part of North Penajam Paser Regency and partly in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, indeed requires a large number of workers to be able to continue to support its development.

Therefore, the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has provided an Information System Platform and Employment Service Application (SIAPKerja) that is capable of absorbing local workers for the construction of the IKN. Regarding this matter, the Special Staff of the Minister of Manpower, Caswiyono Rusydie Cakrawangsa explained that the SIAPkerja is a form of support from the Ministry of Manpower to the North Penajam Paser Regency Government which is the point of the IKN development.

The READY Work Pavilion initiated by the Ministry of Manpower itself will be able to provide services in the field of employment for the community. In it, a lot of integration of all services is even packaged into only one employment ecosystem, such as from training, certification to placement.

Speaking of training, the Ministry of Manpower has provided a competency-based training program to hundreds of people in North Penajam Paser Regency, which will be part of their competition regarding the construction of the New Indonesia IKN because it requires a large number of workers so the competition becomes fierce.

Caswiyono added that the various types of training provided by the Ministry of Manpower for the community in North Penajam Paser Regency were also equipped with facilities that involved the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP) Samarinda, East Kalimantan.

Still regarding facilities, the North Penajam Paser Regency Government itself is trying to integrate well with the Ministry of Manpower, by preparing land with an area of around 10 hectares in Babulu District. The land was granted to the Ministry of Manpower as a location for the construction of a Vocational Training Center for a food development program.

For information, this READY Work Platform has been specifically provided by the Ministry of Manpower in Tengin Baru Village, Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency, which is designated as the core area of the Archipelago IKN. Of course, with the provision of employment services, it is hoped that it will be a solution to employment problems in East Kalimantan, especially in the areas where the New Indonesia IKN development centers are located.

Indeed, the problem of employment, especially in the region, must be able to find a solution immediately. The SIAPKERJA Pavilion is a form of concrete solution that will be able to overcome the problem of unemployment. This is because the Acting Regent of Penajam Paser Utara, Hamdam Pongrewa, admitted that there are at least 3,000 unemployed people in the area entitled Benuo Taka who really need jobs.

In fact, the Prepared Work Pavilions are not only intended for job seekers in industry and companies. However, if there are people who really want to become entrepreneurs and do self-employment, they are able to take part in the READY Work Pavilions in the hope of increasing their competence in certain fields.

With the Prepared Work Pavilion which has become a complete package of support from the Ministry of Manpower for the development of the Archipelago IKN, Stafsus Menaker, Caswiyono hopes that all people in North Penajam Paser Regency will be able to make the best use of the program.

Meanwhile, still regarding efforts to improve the quality of human resources in East Kalimantan to be able to support local workers so they can support the development of the National Archipelagic Sciences, the Mayor of Samarinda, Dr. H Andi Harun opened the Training and Certification of Young Terrestrial Survey Operators or Measuring Engineers.

The training that was held was due to the cooperation of the Samarinda City Manpower Office and the Banjarmasin Region V Construction Services Center. Andi Harun explained that the training was indeed very appropriate to be able to support the preparation of ready-to-use human resources or workforce and also have competitiveness to high competence for the development of the Archipelago’s Capital City (IKN).

According to him, several aspects that must be possessed by workers for the development of the IKN include workers who have intelligence, skills, motivation as well as competitiveness and special abilities. They also have certification, which will definitely be needed in the future.

Furthermore, the Mayor of Samarinda revealed that in a very advanced era like now and supported by the open flow of information, it has become a strength that can be utilized by the younger generation in Indonesia, especially in East Kalimantan.

The development of the Archipelago Capital City (IKN) requires a large number of human resources as a workforce. Therefore, the government, as an effort to be able to deal with the problem of the large number of unemployed people in North Penajam Paser Regency, has provided a variety of activities and training programs that local people can participate in. The aim is to be able to prepare for the absorption of many local workers so that they are no less competitive with the presence of workers from other regions.
