Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the handover of funds from forest area control, including administrative fines and state financial rescues, totaling Rp10.27 trillion, at the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The handover symbolizes the government’s strengthened commitment to safeguarding state assets while improving national natural resource governance.
The Rp10,270,051,886,464 funds came from the collection of administrative fines in the forestry sector and tax revenues from follow-up actions by the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH). Stacks of trillions of rupiah were also displayed during the event as a form of transparency for the public.
In addition to the handover of funds, state assets in the form of a national park area, covering 2.37 million hectares, were also handed over from the Attorney General to Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, who reclaimed the PKH Task Force. Furthermore, the oil palm plantations reclaimed from the PKH Task Force were also handed over to the government for continued management.
In his remarks, President Prabowo expressed his pride in the successful rescue of state funds. He emphasized that the Rp 10 trillion in funds is tangible evidence that the public should be aware of, as it can be used directly for the benefit of the people.
“According to the report from the Minister of Health, we have had 10,000 community health centers (Puskesmas) since the time of Pak Harto, and for decades, many have not been repaired. With this Rp 10 trillion, we can complete the renovation of 5,000 community health centers,” said President Prabowo.
According to the President, many public facilities, such as schools, health services, and transportation in remote areas, still require serious attention.
He emphasized that rescuing state finances is a crucial step to ensure that people in all regions can experience equitable development.
“We are repairing everything with funds that, if we don’t save them, would have been lost to corruptors and thieves,” he asserted.
Attorney General ST Burhanuddin stated that the handover of the funds demonstrates the transparency and accountability of the PKH Task Force’s performance to the public.
He stated that this success demonstrates the state’s commitment to upholding forest sovereignty and preventing the leakage of Indonesia’s natural resources.
“This pile of money is not merely ceremonial, but rather concrete evidence of the PKH Task Force’s performance in protecting national interests through collaborative law enforcement,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pitra Romadoni Nasution, President of the Indonesian Association of Legal Practitioners and Legal Experts, assessed the successful rescue of state finances as an important milestone in asset recovery-based law enforcement and strengthening the state’s presence in safeguarding the public interest.
