CIDISS – The natural product is one of the sources of regional income. Many people rely on natural products. Rattan is one of a natural product.

In the province of Central Kalimantan, Rattan is one of the natural products and provides economic value for the community. One of them is in Kotawaringin Timur regency.

However, the result of investigations from the Department of Industry and Trade (Disperindag) Kotawaringin Timur, much of Rattan illegally sells to Malaysia. This was revealed by Plt Kadisdisperindag Kotim, Hero Rio Widosono.

Hero, indicating the rattan and half-finished rattan came from the Kotawaringin Timur illegally sells. According to him, at first, the rattan was brought from Kotawaringin Timur by ship to south Kalimantan. The delivery of rattan does not carry permits and official documents from the port syahbandar.

After that, the rattan transport to East Kalimantan province. In East Kalimantan, there is a port near Malaysia, and the rattan is sold to Malaysia.

Related to the illegally sells rattan from Kotawaringin Timur to abroad. The KSOP officers should be able to supervise the ship that rattan-filled. Because the regional lose due to rattan smuggling is quite large. For example, if the load in a ship containing 700 tons to 1000 tons departed in a month, then of course, there are thousands of tons of Kotim rattan sold by means smuggled.
