“This is good progress, and we must continue to push for the immediate realization of all assistance,” said Bambang.
He explained that the BSPS program’s achievements in various regions, including Surabaya, are showing a positive trend. Of the total 1,200 units allocated, 600 had been verified as of early May.
This indicates that the program is on target and needs to be further accelerated so that its benefits can be felt more widely.
Furthermore, Bambang emphasized that adequate housing is a basic need that directly impacts the quality of life of the community.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding the reach of the BSPS program.
He stated that aid quotas have increased significantly in various regions as a way to accelerate the handling of uninhabitable houses.
“Today, we are directly reviewing proposals from prospective recipients of the BSPS Program with local governments,” he said.
The government continues to ensure that aid distribution is carried out transparently and on target by involving local governments in the verification process.
“This is the result of mutual cooperation to expedite the handling of uninhabitable houses,” he continued.
The increase in the BSPS quota is also evident in several regions, such as East Kalimantan, which saw an increase from 655 units to 3,000 units by 2026.
Meanwhile, in East Java, the amount of aid has even reached 33,000 units. This increase demonstrates the government’s commitment to accelerating the public housing program.
Maruarar emphasized that the BSPS program is not only oriented towards physical home repairs but also has a broader social dimension.
“What we are doing is not just repairing houses, but also building hope,” he emphasized.
Furthermore, the government ensures that the entire program implementation process is free of charge. Transparency is key to maintaining public trust and ensuring the program’s effectiveness.
“We ensure this program is targeted, transparent, and free of levies. This is a tangible manifestation of the state’s presence,” he concluded.
With a significant increase in the quota, the BSPS becomes a crucial instrument in accelerating the renovation of subsidized housing while simultaneously promoting public welfare.
This program also reflects the government’s commitment to meeting the people’s basic needs and building a stronger and more sustainable economic foundation.
