CKG is designed as a preventative service that is easily accessible to all levels of society. Through regular health checks, this program not only helps detect early symptoms of disease but also provides important education about healthy lifestyles. This way, the public is expected to be able to take preventative measures before health conditions develop into more serious ones.
Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, stated that early detection is key to reducing morbidity and mortality from non-communicable diseases. Therefore, the government is promoting a promotive and preventive approach through this program, so that the public can detect disease risks early.
“Many diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease, can be prevented or controlled if detected early. Through CKG, we want to raise public awareness of the importance of regular health checks,” he said.
This program includes a variety of screening services, from blood pressure checks, blood sugar levels, and cholesterol to screening for specific diseases according to age and risk groups. Furthermore, health workers provide direct consultations to help people understand test results and the necessary follow-up steps.
The CKG approach also prioritizes cross-sector collaboration, including health facilities, local governments, and local communities. The involvement of these various parties is expected to expand service coverage and ensure the program’s long-term sustainability.
Imran Pambudi, Director of Health Services for Vulnerable Groups at the Ministry of Health, emphasized that strengthening early detection is a crucial part of the national health system transformation. The government is targeting a significant increase in health screening coverage in the next few years, in line with efforts to reduce the burden of healthcare costs due to chronic diseases.
“We emphasize that strengthening early detection is a crucial element in the transformation of the national health system. We will also significantly increase health screening coverage in the next few years to reduce the burden of healthcare costs due to chronic diseases,” he said.
Going forward, the CKG program will continue to be developed by utilizing digital technology for recording and monitoring test results. With this step, it is hoped that the public will receive faster, more accurate, and more integrated healthcare services.
Through the continuous implementation of CKG, the government is optimistic that it can create a society that is healthier, more productive, and has a better quality of life.
