Cross-sector support is strengthened through central government policies. Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, emphasized that the government provides full support to regions in forest and land fire prevention efforts.
“We ensure open budget support for regions that declare alert status, so that preventive measures can be implemented more quickly and measurably,” he said.
The Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Lieutenant General Suharyanto, ensured the availability of funding to optimally support forest and land fire management. He emphasized that the efficiency policy does not diminish the government’s commitment to disaster management.
“The budget for forest and land fire management is fully allocated in accordance with the President’s directives, so that all efforts in the field can be maximized from the prevention stage,” he explained.
Furthermore, strengthening synergy is also realized through increased field coordination involving various elements, including volunteers and local communities. The active role of all parties is considered crucial in strengthening the early detection system, accelerating reporting, and ensuring that response measures can be implemented in an integrated and sustainable manner.
Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, General TNI (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, stated that preparedness must be built through solid and integrated cooperation.
“Strengthening cross-sector synergy is a concrete step to increase vigilance and ensure that forest and land fires can be suppressed early through rapid and coordinated prevention and response,” he said.
Furthermore, Coordinating Minister for Political, Political, and Security Affairs, General TNI (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago, requested that all regional heads and related elements ensure the readiness of resources, from personnel to supporting facilities. He also instructed the strengthening of integrated patrols and the acceleration of hotspot verification.
“Strong synergy will accelerate the response, so that any potential fires can be immediately addressed before they spread and have a greater impact,” he emphasized.
Overall, strengthening cross-sector synergy, supported by resource readiness, appropriate policies, and consistent preventative measures, is key to early suppression of forest and land fires. This integrated effort is expected to maintain public safety, protect the environment, and ensure the continuity of social and economic activities during the dry season.
