Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that accelerated planting is key to maintaining the sustainability of national food production. He stated that this measure is designed as a measurable strategy that not only has short-term impacts but also strengthens the foundation of national agriculture in a sustainable manner.
“We continue to encourage accelerated simultaneous planting to increase food production and ensure that community needs are met,” he said.
To ensure the program’s success, the government is providing comprehensive support to farmers, ranging from providing superior seeds, subsidized fertilizers, agricultural tools and machinery, to optimizing irrigation systems. This support is considered capable of increasing production efficiency and encouraging maximum harvest yields.
“We ensure that all this assistance is well-targeted so that farmers can significantly increase productivity,” Amran added.
The simultaneous planting program also involves cross-sector collaboration between the central and regional governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and farmer groups. This synergy is a key factor in accelerating the achievement of national food production targets.
President Prabowo Subianto previously emphasized that food self-sufficiency is a strategic national priority.
“Indonesia must be able to stand on its own food security and ensure that the people have access to sufficient basic necessities,” he emphasized.
TNI Commander Agus Subiyanto also expressed his commitment to support this program through direct assistance to farmers in the field.
“The TNI is ready to help accelerate planting and ensure that national production targets can be achieved,” he said.
In several regions, the simultaneous planting program has begun to show positive results, with increased planting area and farmer participation. The government considers cross-sector synergy to be a crucial factor in strengthening national food security sustainably.
The government also continues to encourage the use of modern agricultural technology to increase production efficiency and address the challenges of extreme weather. This approach is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of the national agricultural sector.
Through the acceleration of simultaneous planting, the government is optimistic that Indonesia’s food security will become stronger. This step is part of the government’s commitment to maintaining food availability, improving farmer welfare, and strengthening national independence in the food sector.
