Inaugurating the PYCH Building, Jokowi: I Support the Emergence of Young Papuan Talents

Jayapura – President Joko Widodo has inaugurated the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) building in Jayapura, Papua.

In his remarks, President Jokowi said he was proud of the presence of PYCH in the Land of Papua.

“This morning I really feel very proud, because of the request of 23 young Papuans at that time whom I invited to the Palace to have a space for empowerment, to improve the quality of human resources, today we can see it together at the Papua Youth Creative Hub in Jayapura, said President Jokowi.

The President was also amazed at the various achievements made by Papuan youths at PYCH.

“I am very surprised that everything is in this PYCH, starting from making cellphones, laptops, podcasts, music studios, photography, and also showing off products in the Land of Papua with very good packaging and branding. If this continues, young people in other provinces will be left behind by young people in Papua,” he said.

According to him, PYCH was built because the government wanted to provide opportunities for young people who have talents to be creative.

“Because I see the opportunity in the Land of Papua is still very large, for young people to enter. And we hope this can provide increased welfare for the people of Papua that we love,” said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi said he would give as much space as possible after meeting with the PYCH community. Then there was an idea to make a PYCH in this place based on field directions, field inputs were obtained from the Head of BIN.

“This is the first in Indonesia in Papua, I ask that it also be built in NTT, in West Papua, then in Maluku and Aceh starting this year, so that it will be completed next year by imitating everything here, this is very good,” he hoped .

Meanwhile, the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), General Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan, who was also present at the inauguration of the PYCH revealed, the inauguration of the building was a form of the President’s commitment to building a Papuan talent center as a driving force for the economy and prosperity of Papua.

The Head of BIN also explained that PYCH’s vision and mission was the driving force in partnership with various stakeholders.

“PYCH must be a pillar of Papuan youth. We are optimistic that the results of PYCH will be global with the development of Papuan Youth Human Resources. PYCH will create jobs for business and economic development as well as arts and culture, and others,” said the Head of BIN.

Papua, according to him, has a special place in the President’s heart. With special attention to development including the development of Papuan human resources and the development of Papuan male and female human resources. Therefore, they love the President even more.

Until now, there have been many benefits obtained from this PYCH Building. Several efforts initiated by PYCH assisted by BIN have already experienced benefits.
