President Prabowo Affirms Commitment to Eradicating Corruption Without Exception

JAKARTA — The government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the eradication of corruption as part of its efforts to realize clean, transparent, and accountable governance.

President Prabowo Subianto has made eradicating corruption a top priority in his administration to ensure that every development program is on target and provides the greatest possible benefit to the public.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that President Prabowo consistently reminds all levels of government to maintain integrity and strengthen oversight of the implementation of government programs.

“He has repeatedly stated that one thing we must ensure is that we must fight corruption,” said Prasetyo Hadi.

According to Prasetyo, the government respects all ongoing legal processes and fully supports the actions of law enforcement officials in prosecuting all forms of corruption.

“The government respects the ongoing legal process. On this occasion, we also express our appreciation and gratitude to all law enforcement officials, including the Prosecutor’s Office, the Police, and the Corruption Eradication Commission, who continue to work hard in our joint efforts to combat corruption,” Prasetyo said.

The government also ensures that legal proceedings against officials implicated in corruption cases will not disrupt public services. Inter-ministerial coordination continues to ensure the continuity of public services and the implementation of national priority programs.

As a demonstration of its commitment to strengthening the oversight system, President Prabowo stated the government’s readiness to meet the needs of supervisory institutions and law enforcement officers. During the National Consolidation of the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG) in Bogor Regency, the President explicitly requested that the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) convey the needs needed to strengthen state financial oversight.

“Head of BPKP, what do you need? If you need additional personnel, I will provide whatever you need. Chairman of the KPK, report whatever you need, I will provide. Attorney General, I will provide whatever you need,” President Prabowo asserted.

The Head of State emphasized that strengthening oversight institutions is a crucial step to ensure there are no budget leaks or misuse of state funds.

“I don’t want the people’s money stolen, and there will be no exceptions,” the President said.

Responding to this directive, KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that his office views the President’s statement as a concrete form of support for Indonesia’s anti-corruption agenda.

“Actually, we see his statement as demonstrating a commitment, namely firmness, and support for the process of eradicating corruption. Furthermore, there is no interference with law enforcement officials, a serious approach, and many things have already been done,” said Setyo Budiyanto.

Setyo emphasized that the KPK will immediately follow up on the President’s directive by conducting an inventory of institutional needs to increase the effectiveness of corruption eradication.
