JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that every public aspiration has equal value, whether it comes from academics, students, or residents in remote villages. The government, he said, is committed to making all public input a vital part of formulating solutions to the nation’s various problems.
President Prabowo made this statement at the closing of the 2026 National Science, Technology, and Industry Convention in Jakarta. On that occasion, the President revealed that he had received various suggestions and questions from the participants, which he would study and follow up on in stages.
“I received the list of proposals and questions submitted earlier; they are quite extensive. I promise I will pay attention to each one,” said President Prabowo.
He emphasized that the government’s attention is not only focused on the views of professors and academics, but also on the aspirations of the public conveyed through various digital channels, including social media.
“Not only suggestions from professors, but I also immediately follow up on suggestions from village children that reach me directly via TikTok,” Prabowo said.
According to the President, a country’s success is determined by its courage to acknowledge the various problems it faces and then work hard to find solutions together.
“A successful country is one that has the courage to identify its shortcomings, identify the problems, and then address them,” he emphasized.
The government’s commitment to opening a space for dialogue was also appreciated by the Executive Director of Kata Rakyat, Alwan Ola Riantobi. According to him, the government’s willingness to accept student demonstrations and open communication demonstrates that President Prabowo’s administration upholds democratic principles openly and is not anti-criticism.
“Demonstrations are good for a democratic country. What deserves appreciation for the government is its willingness to accept and open dialogue with demonstrators. This demonstrates that Mr. Prabowo’s administration is democratic and not anti-criticism,” Alwan said.
He added that the government’s openness is also evident in its willingness to listen to input from economic experts and the public in responding to national economic dynamics, including evaluating the implementation of the Free Nutritional Meal Program (MBG).
The government’s enthusiasm demonstrates that public aspirations are viewed as an important foundation in the policy-making process. Through open dialogue, continuous evaluation, and collaboration among all elements of the nation, development is expected to become more responsive to the needs of the community while strengthening the quality of Indonesian democracy.
