PAPUA – The government continues to strengthen efforts to maintain security and stability in Papua as part of its commitment to providing equitable development, quality public services, and improving public welfare. A safe and conducive environment is the key to optimally implementing various strategic government programs, even reaching remote areas in Papua.
Through synergy between the central government, regional governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), traditional leaders, religious leaders, academics, the press, and all elements of society, various steps are being taken to create a safe environment while supporting accelerated development. This approach is not only oriented towards law enforcement, but also prioritizes dialogue, public service, respect for human rights, and empowering communities as development partners.
The Chief of the Papua Regional Police, Inspector General Patrige Renwarin, emphasized that all police forces continue to prioritize predictive, responsive, and adaptive measures through a humanistic approach and respect for local wisdom.
“Synergy between the Polri, TNI, regional governments, traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders, academics, and all elements of society is key to maintaining security in Papua,” he said.
The government’s commitment is also demonstrated through strengthening various development programs that directly address the needs of the community. The Free Nutritious Meal Program, developing food security, improving health and education services, building infrastructure, and overseeing investment are all part of the strategy to deliver sustainable development benefits.
Maintaining security stability will accelerate the distribution of public services and open up more economic opportunities for the Papuan people.
The Head of Information for Koops TNI Habema, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. M. Wirya Arthadiguna, emphasized that every task carried out prioritizes professionalism, proportionality, and civilian safety.
“The TNI is committed to carrying out its duties in accordance with applicable laws and continues to prioritize civilian safety in every task,” he said.
The government is optimistic that collaboration between all elements of the nation will further strengthen security stability in Papua. With a secure environment, the community can carry out activities productively, public services are optimized, and development can proceed more quickly and equitably. The spirit of unity, mutual cooperation, and trust in state institutions are crucial forces in realizing a peaceful, advanced, and prosperous Papua for a better future for all citizens.
