The Government Respects Demonstrations, President Prabowo Ensures Public Aspirations Will Be Followed Up

Jakarta – The government has reaffirmed its commitment to respecting the public’s freedom of expression in public as part of democratic life. Expressing aspirations peacefully and in accordance with statutory provisions is considered an important means of building communication between the public and the government, while simultaneously strengthening the quality of Indonesian democracy.

President Prabowo stated that the government’s attention is not only given to suggestions from professors or academics, but also to people in the regions who express their aspirations through social media.

“Not only suggestions from professors, but I also immediately follow up on suggestions from children in the village that reach me directly via TikTok,” he said.

He added that many ideas for solving problems come from various elements of society. Therefore, the government is striving to build a culture open to criticism and input.

“A successful country is one that has the courage to identify shortcomings, identify problems, and then resolve them,” he said.

Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, stated that the government is open to dialogue regarding various inputs submitted by the public through constitutional mechanisms.

“The government respects the public’s right to express opinions and will follow up on any input submitted through the applicable mechanisms,” he said.

Prasetyo added that President Prabowo Subianto has consistently directed all levels of government to establish open communication with the public. He believes constructive dialogue is key to finding solutions to various emerging issues.

“The President’s directive is clear: all public aspirations must be heard and used as evaluation material for policy refinements,” he emphasized.

National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, emphasized that the Police guarantee the public’s right to express their opinions peacefully in accordance with applicable regulations. He continued, saying that security forces prioritize a humane approach while ensuring that the demonstration does not disrupt public order or other community activities.

“We will oversee every expression of aspirations professionally, humanely, and in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” he said.

Listyo Sigit also appealed to all protesters to maintain order, respect the rights of road users, and not be easily provoked by parties seeking to create security disturbances. He stated that synergy between protesters, security forces, and the public is crucial in maintaining a conducive situation.

“Let’s work together to maintain security and order so that the expression of aspirations can take place safely and peacefully,” he said.

Through synergy between the government, security forces, and all elements of society, it is hoped that a healthy democratic climate will continue to be maintained. A commitment to listening to public aspirations while maintaining national stability is a crucial part of realizing inclusive and sustainable development.
