The 212 reunion event at the KPK which will be held by FPI et al is considered by many to be full of interests and sensation seeking. The demonstration was also minimal in substance and only chasing beautiful dates.
What would happen if someone who was incompetent in his field tried to jump in another field. Similarly, FPI and friends were judged to be in the wrong room because they only focused on corruption cases. Not only were they judged to be in the wrong room, but in the opinion of experts who were vocal in highlighting corruption cases they also assumed they were only looking for prestige. Moreover, efforts to hold 212 planned actions will be carried out on 21 February 2020.
Previously, FPI General Secretary Munarman, stated that this action was motivated by the initiators who felt the handling of a number of cases had stalled. They claim that if law enforcement officials, up to now have not shown a serious attitude to finalize this case.
It is suspected that the stagnation in handling megakorruption cases is increasingly crazy because it involves a central circle of power. This behavior is suspected as part of their mode of corruption which is indicated for political financing to gain and perpetuate power.
The 212 action related to corruption also highlights a number of cases of alleged bribery against members of the House of Representatives involving former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku and a former KPU commissioner named Wahyu Setiawan. They also poked the suspected corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.
That is what seems to be the background of FPI and friends voicing the action. In fact, they also invited regional officials to hold a warm-up before the peak of the action. In response, the KPK said that corruption is a common enemy. The KPK assesses that all religions agree that corruption must be suppressed.
Acting KPK Spokesman Ali Fikri believes that all law enforcement officers who handle corruption cases must work seriously, including the KPK. Ali stressed that the KPK was committed to thoroughly investigating the corruption cases that were taking place. The KPK also stressed that they work according to the provisions not based on specific parties’ requests.
The attention given by FPI et al was considered by several parties to have expired. The reason is, this case is not a new case. It was precisely when they were hot and the KPK was completely stripped of their ignorance and gave no response. If now they deliver discourse related to this matter, it certainly needs to be questioned. The first indication is the pursuit of popularity, why is that? This is considered to be related because Indonesia will soon have a gawe, namely the 2020 elections. It is likely that they are looking for candidates to be carried forward to move back to the seat of government, after twice being aground.
But it is not FPI and friends if they surrender, now they are back looking for a stage through the momentum of the KPK case. They seemed to want to show sympathy as well as want to attract the attention of the citizens, more precisely building branding after fading because of the case of the organization’s permission which was not immediately renewed.
The second reason is, they seem to be chasing beautiful numbers. Just look at the numbers on the date they plan to hold a reunion or 212 action. This kind of thing has indeed become the hallmark of the Islamic organization. In the past, when this organization was very good, it also applied something that smelled quite unique. For example, it requires its investigators to wear a white dress code because they want to whiten the city of Jakarta. It is quite possible now, the date was deliberately chosen so that it is easy to remember and attract attention. However, the severity if it is then associated with nature, is really too much.
Another reason is the possibility of “orders” or requests from certain individuals. This could have happened, as this mass organization has never been absent from the stage crowd for a number of politicians. For them to be able to be recognized again by doing anything. Including looking so concerned about the case that was wrapping the country. Where did you go yesterday? When other parties were busy with the KPK case last year, they just appeared. If then there is a question what their mode is reasonable! After all, before they were not at all interested in this issue. Then why did you suddenly come and want to take a position? In this case the government and citizens may be vigilant, if indeed just looking for sensation, just ignore it!
