Indonesia Strengthen Relations With Thailand

Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi has met Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai at Pancasila building, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta. That meeting held in a warm and friendly atmosphere that discuss various cooperation, ranging from collaborative efforts combating transnational organized crime, maritime cooperation to strengthen economic ties and mutual support between the two countries.
Beside those issues, Indonesia offers the best kind of “rain-making aircraft” C212400 production of PT Dirgantara Indonesia to the Thai government. Indonesia reveals the best offer as an effort to boost trade ties with Thailand which declined in 2015 ago. The value of trade between the two countries in 2015 only reached 12.6 billion dollars, while in 2014 reached 14.5 billion dollars.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi also conveyed the invitation officially to Thailand to attend the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) about Palestine in Jakarta 6-7 March as one observer state.
Indonesia supports Thailand become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2017-2018 period. While Thailand is supporting Indonesia to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2019-2020 period.
In the same place, the Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai said his visit to Indonesia is to strengthen bilateral relations. He also hoped that such cooperation can provide benefits to both countries and the cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand can be intertwined more closely.
