CIDISS – The Conflict rises up again in Rohingya. The conflict has killed thousands and thousands of homes burned. By the conflicts, it got a lot of sympathy from the international world. One of them is from Indonesia.

The government and the people of Indonesia continue to provide assistances for Rohingya spirits. Regardless of the pro and contra polemic of the cause, whether due to religion, politics, ethnicity, or natural resources, the conflict should not happen.

Until September 2017, there are 400.000 Rohingya whose are Muslim are leaving Myanmar to Bangladesh. The Rohingya escaped from their homes by hiding, walking through the bush, crossing the river and sneaking through the forest to Bangladesh. The conflict should not happen.

Government of Indonesia, continue to do various ways to be able to help the refugees of Rohingya. The assistance is both in terms of logistics and diplomatic. After sending the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, to communicate with the governments of Bangladesh and Myanmar about what aid the refugees need.

The Indonesian government sends logistical support to the refugees of refugees. The sending of humanitarian aid was conducted at Base Ops Halim Perdanakusuma, East Jakarta by Indonesian President, Joko Widodo on Wednesday (13/09/2017) morning.

“Thank God, today on September 13, 2017 we can send humanitarian aid to refugees from Rakhine State that is currently on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border,” said Jokowi.

A total of 34 tons of humanitarian aid consists of fast food, food packages, family kits, water tanks, refugee tents, children’s clothing and blankets. This assistance is transported using four Hercules aircraft.

The assistance is not the last. In the going forward, President stated that the government continues to raise humanitarian aid to be distributed to hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees.

“I thank all those who have helped, together with the government, the people, the mass organizations, the local government, the entrepreneurs, together we will also send assistance to our brothers and sisters (Rohingya),”

On Thursday (14/09/2017), 34 tons of humanitarian aid for Rohingya refugees arrived in Bangladesh.
