Great appreciation should be given to the management of the Indonesian Esport Agency (PB ESI) during the leadership era of Budi Gunawan. This is because with all the support that has provided all the complete facilities for all Indonesian esports athletes, it has proven successful in bringing the Indonesian MLBB National Team to the grand final of the IESF Bali 14 th  WEC 2022.

It is undeniable that so far there have been many changes and developments that have been successfully printed by the esports ecosystem in Indonesia. Especially since the existence of (PBESI) which has indeed become the parent organization of the esports branch as well as appearing as a forum for Indonesian athletes.

Developments were very rapid, especially when the management of PB ESI was under the leadership of Gen. Pol (Purn) Budi Gunawan who was appointed in 2020 and will lead until the 2024 period. Seriousness was clearly shown by him. It is proven that since he was first appointed, he has immediately had a lot of preparations related to various strategic steps and is full of optimism for the improvement of Indonesian esports.

Not only the development of the country’s esports world, but when the sector can develop properly, it will automatically have an impact on improving other sectors as well such as the economic and tourism industry in Indonesia, which has recently been shaken due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The man who also serves as the Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN RI) when he was first inaugurated immediately decided on several regulations to further clarify and also make regulations related to how the world of esports in Indonesia so that it runs much more directed.

Of course, the regulations made by the Ketum PB ESI Budi Gunawan, none other than aim to be able to increase various kinds of achievements, and indeed it immediately proved successful with the many achievements recorded by esports athletes in Indonesia even in the international arena though.

One of the things he immediately changed after serving as Chairman of PB ESI in the world of Indonesian esports was to really try to meet all kinds of athletes’ needs, including the availability of an esports training center. The reason is, so far, this is still a problem even though it is actually a very crucial part.

But slowly, indeed, a number of problems that have enveloped the world of Indonesian esports have been resolved since Budi Gunawan’s leadership. PBESI immediately moved very quickly to accept these complaints and finally provided facilities in the form of an esports training center whose construction was even adjusted to international standards.

It has only one goal, namely how to make Indonesia grow, especially in the field of esports so that it can lead Asia and even become the world’s esports barometer. In the 2022 IESF Bali 14th World Esports  Championships, the Head of PB ESI then targeted that Indonesia would not only succeed in becoming the organizer as well as the host, but also make achievements by becoming the overall champion.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson for PB ESI Athlete & Achievement, Yohannes P. Siagian explained that indeed the commitment that PB ESI had since the leadership era of Budi Gunawan was not playing games at all to advance the world of Indonesian esports. His party has also carried out various kinds of coaching and preparation very well for all athletes so that they can continue to score achievements. In fact, this coaching is not only on the technical side of the game, but also on the non-technical side with the aim of being able to build a tough mentality for Indonesian esports athletes.

Thanks to all the support and facilities that have been provided by PBESI, it is evident that the Indonesian National Team itself continues to score victories in the IESF Bali 14 th  WEC 2022. Most recently, the Indonesian National Team Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) even managed to secure tickets to be able to compete in grand final after successfully defeating the Cambodian team in the upper bracket final today, Tuesday (6/12).

The Indonesian national team managed to steal the victory with a score of 2-1 over the Cambodian team even though they had been left behind since the first half. For this victory, one of the MLBB Indonesia National Team players, Jabran ‘Branz’ Bagus, said that he was very happy. Even so, his team did not immediately feel satisfied because there was still another match waiting. For this reason, he revealed that he would continue to make every effort to really be able to contribute gold to the country so that the target of becoming the overall champion was getting closer.

Meanwhile, the Coach of the MLBB Indonesian National Team, Aji Wicaksono stated that the victory that was achieved by his team could not be separated from the support from all parties, including PB ESI to the prayers of supporters and all Indonesian people.

The success of the Indonesian MLBB National Team in advancing to the IESF Bali 14th WEC 2022 grand final can  not be separated from the important role PBESI played, especially during the era of Budi Gunawan’s management. The reason is that from the very beginning he was appointed, all determination and strong commitment have been put forward and really proven by providing a lot of support to facilities that are very adequate for the progress of the Indonesian esports ecosystem.
