Now Papua is experiencing significant development. Not only in the physical development sector, but in various other sectors such as tourism, Papua has increased much more. The construction of a number of vacation portals is now also considered capable of increasing the income of its residents. Distribution channels along with alternative roads that have been smoothly provide strategic support for the smooth implementation of the XX 2020 PON.
In its history, the PON event is an event for the achievements of the nation’s children from various regions in showing their greatest abilities in the field of sports to further become the capital of speaking on the international scene and is expected to bring the reverberation of the Indonesian Red and White Kingdom at the highest podium.
For Papua, PON is very important because it will be an added value for equitable development in Papua, as well as an increase in the community’s economy, because the success of PON is not only limited to the successful implementation but also provides the opportunity for talented nation’s children to show their best service for the Republic of Indonesia, especially in sports.
The plan is to open the XX PON on October 20, 2020. which is located at the Bangkit Papua Stadium, Jayapura Regency. Whereas the closing ceremony was scheduled for November 12, 2020. Optimism for Papua’s readiness to succeed in the implementation of PON XX is a seriousness and enthusiasm for the nation’s children to be able to carve out regional achievements in a national event which can become a nationality in the eyes of the world.
President Joko Widodo paid attention to the success of the national sporting event by mentioning that the Papuan PON is not only an arena of sporting competition, but is an arena to strengthen brotherhood, unity and solidarity between regions. Because PON does not only belong to the Papuan regional government and Papuans but also to all Indonesian citizens, including citizens.
Papua’s loyalty to the Republic of Indonesia has no doubt. In order to show that Papua is Indonesia, this region continues to spark high enthusiasm to hold the 4 yearly routine event.
For Papua PON XX in 2020 is a form of proof and loyalty that Papua is Indonesia, which is Peaceful, Great and Dignified and Advanced. This is inseparable from the role of the Government which concretely continues to build and give priority to the development of Papuan human resources. Let us support the success of PON XX Papua by building narratives in various public media spaces that can foster optimism and solidity in order to jointly build the nation’s pride through the success of the PON XX event in Papua.
