The act of the Papuan Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) must of course be overcome, especially in December Christians and Catholics will celebrate Christmas, the moment of Christmas and the new year of 2022 must of course be realized peacefully without the threat of terror.
To eradicate KST, the security forces have a special force called the Nemangkawi Task Force, whose task is to eradicate KST, which often causes trouble. On November 27, 2021, the Nemangkawi Task Force managed to arrest KST frontman Demius Magayang alias Temius Magayang on Jalan Gunung, Dekai District, Yakuhimo Regency.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Papuan Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, stated that Demius Magayang was the commander of KST Operations for Kodap XVI in the Yakuhimo region and was on the wanted list for being involved in a series of murder cases in the Dekai area, Yakuhimo. Musthofa said that one of the cases involving Demius Magayang was the murder of 2 members of the Pamrahwan 432/SW Task Force. Demius was also involved in the murder on the airport road on May 18, 2021, the attack on the police and there were injuries and many other cases.
When Demius Magayang was arrested, evidence was found in the form of homemade firearms, 8 rounds of ammunition, handy talkies (HT), wallets, knives, necklaces and cigarettes. From the evidence, it can be traced and finally carried out an investigation and investigation. KST was also finally known to have an operating system because it had a handy talkie and from there it was possible to trace which other HT was being held by other KST members.
The agility of the Nemangkawi Task Force received praise from the Papuan people, the article was that KST had crossed the line by firing shots not only at the officers but also innocent civilians. The existence of KST in Papua with all its evil actions so far must have caused endless fear for local residents. It is not wrong if Papuans are inflamed and express their jealousy towards their fellow countrymen and countrymen in other regions who are allowed to enjoy the dynamics of normal life without being afraid of a sudden attack from KST.
With the existence of atrocities that clearly violate human rights, of course the state must be present with a clear goal, namely to protect Papuans so that they can live a normal life, without being overshadowed by terror and fear. When Papua returns to peace and conducive without conflict involving firearms, the government can calmly continue development on Cenderawasih Earth
Fighting and liberating Papua from various terrors and crimes against humanity by KST is a concrete manifestation for the state to protect the basic rights of the Papuan people, especially the right to worship safely.
We need to know that the United Nations (UN) has rejected the Papuan referendum plan, and decided that Papua and West Papua are an inviolable part of Indonesia. The decision was conveyed by the Ambassador/permanent representative of Indonesia to the United Nations (UN) Dian Triansyah Djani in Geneva.
Previously, the chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Andi Taufan Damanik said that KST, which often carried out attacks, had disrupted the progress of the government which was realizing development in Papua. Therefore, according to Andi, the actions of the KKB, which often carry out these attacks, clearly harm all parties in Papua.
He also emphasized that Komnas HAM had sent a team to Papua to provide input to the police there, so that they could quickly take action against what KST had done.
Christmas and New Year should be celebrated with feelings of peace and joy, so it is very important for the apparatus to maintain security in Papua.
Peace of Christmas and New Year’s 2022 should be maintained, of course maintaining peace in Papua is not only the task of the apparatus and the government, but also the duty of the local community.
