The rise of acts of violence that still occur in the Papua region, should not have happened, if people who have interests think clearly and really prioritize the interests of the people. The struggle to liberate Papua as a state itself cannot be forced through acts of violence. Papua is still a part of Indonesia until it is time to break away and be inside Indonesian territory.
If seen from history, Papua is an island located north of the Australian Continent, is part of Indonesia. Most of Papua’s land is still forested, Papua is the second largest island in the world after Greenland. About 47% of the island of Papua is part of Indonesia, which is known as the Netherlands New Guinea, West Irian, West Irian, and Irian Jaya, and recently known as Papua. The other part of the island is the territory of the state of Papua New Guinea (Papua New Guinea), which is a former British colony. The population of the population between the two countries actually has an ethnic kinship, but then separated by a border line.
Papua itself illustrates Indonesia’s past history, where it was noted that during the 18th century AD, the rulers of the Srivijaya kingdom, centered in what is now Palembang, South Sumatra, sent offerings to the Chinese empire. In the offering there are several birds of Paradise, which are believed to be birds from the garden of paradise which is native to Papua, then known as ‘Janggi’.
In the notes written in the Kertagama State book, Papua is also included in the Majapahit kingdom. Besides being written in the book which is a collection of history made by the government of the Majapahit Kingdom, Papua’s entry into the Majapahit territory was also listed in the Prapanca book compiled in 1365. So it is clear, many people doubt that what Papua really is part of Indonesia. But it cannot be denied that Papua is part of Indonesia. The Indonesian nation is a nation that consists of various tribes, races, religions, and groups, of which Papua is also included.
