The Indonesian government continues to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring the sustainability of the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) as part of efforts to achieve economic equality and improve people’s welfare in an inclusive manner. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the development of IKN is not only intended to move the center of government, but also aims to create a new growth center that supports the national and regional economy.
As a symbol of transformation and modernization, IKN is the focus of attention both at the national and international levels. President Prabowo emphasized that the development of IKN is designed as a strategic step to create equitable development throughout Indonesia. This effort reflects Indonesia’s grand vision in realizing inclusive and sustainable development.
During the visit of a high-level delegation from the United States led by the United States Deputy Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Marisa Lago, the Indonesian government received concrete support for the IKN development project. The delegation brought a number of high-tech companies interested in collaborating in developing smart city infrastructure in the archipelago.
Lago emphasized the importance of collaboration in the development of the IKN, especially in the fields of technology and infrastructure. He appreciated Indonesia’s great ambition in creating a smart city that will become a model for sustainable development in the Southeast Asia region. This shows that the development of the IKN is relevant to Indonesia and has a significant global impact.
The United States Ambassador to Indonesia, Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir, said that this bilateral collaboration reflects the increasingly close strategic relationship between the two countries. This also emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in supporting an inclusive and sustainable development agenda.
The development of a smart city in the IKN is proof that Indonesia is focused on physical development and technological development that can support long-term sustainability. The government hopes that this initiative can improve the quality of life of people in the archipelago and attract more investment from the domestic and international private sectors.
To ensure the sustainability of the IKN development, the government has issued various strategic policies, one of which is the provision of fiscal incentives. Minister of Investment and Downstreaming who also serves as Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, explained that the extension of the tax holiday facility until December 2025 is an important step in attracting greater investment flows to the archipelago.
This policy is designed to provide more appeal to investors interested in the IKN development project. By offering tax incentives, the government hopes to encourage business actors to make new investments in the region. This not only supports the physical development of the IKN but also creates new jobs for the surrounding community.
President Prabowo ensured that the development of the IKN was carried out by prioritizing the principles of sustainability and inclusion. This approach includes efforts to maintain environmental sustainability, empower local communities, and ensure that all parties can feel the benefits of this project.
Infrastructure development in the IKN is also designed to support digital transformation and modernization in various sectors. By involving advanced technology and innovation, the government wants to create an efficient urban ecosystem that is also able to face future challenges, including climate change and population growth.
Collaboration with international partners such as the United States shows that the development of the IKN is not only a national project but also part of a global effort to promote sustainable development. The Indonesian government hopes that this project can be an example for other countries in integrating sustainability with economic growth.
As a new center of government and economy, the IKN is expected to be able to attract massive investment from various sectors, ranging from technology, infrastructure, to public services. This will create a positive domino effect for the national economy, including increasing people’s purchasing power, creating jobs, and developing the small and medium business sector.
President Prabowo is optimistic that the development of the IKN will be an important milestone in Indonesia’s journey towards a more equitable and inclusive economic equality. Support from the international community further strengthens the belief that the development of the IKN will go according to plan. By involving various parties, the Indonesian government wants to ensure that this project is not only economically successful but also has a positive social impact.
Through the development of the IKN, the Indonesian government has demonstrated its commitment to creating a better future for all people. This project is proof that equitable development can be achieved through collaboration, innovation, and sustainability.
President Prabowo continues to encourage all parties to work together to realize Indonesia’s grand vision for the IKN. With sustainability as the main principle, this development is expected to create a lasting positive impact, both for Indonesia and the global community.
This optimism reflects the great hope that the IKN will become a new center of growth that supports economic equality, increased welfare, and the development of Indonesia’s potential in the future. With joint efforts, the IKN Nusantara will become a symbol of progress and inclusiveness that inspires future generations.
