President Prabowo Subianto continues to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global economy through intensive economic diplomacy. Several of his visits to major countries such as China, the United States, and Peru have resulted in investment deals worth trillions, which are expected to drive economic growth and national welfare.

The various visits made by the Head of State are not only a means to strengthen bilateral relations between countries, but also result in investment agreements worth trillions that will help drive national economic growth, including creating jobs and further strengthening the welfare of the Indonesian people.

During his visit to China, President Prabowo met with Premier Li Qiang at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The meeting resulted in business contracts between Indonesian and Chinese companies worth around US$10 billion or around Rp156 trillion.

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the agreement is expected to accelerate the growth of the industrial sector in Indonesia. The eighth President of Indonesia also emphasized his commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with China, by studying the country’s success in eradicating poverty, and planning a program to send Indonesian students to improve the quality of human resources.

In addition to major investment contracts, the two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the green mineral sector. This step will strengthen the sustainable mineral supply chain in clean energy development, which is important for the development of the green mineral industry in Indonesia.

Collaboration in this field is expected to push Indonesia towards a stronger position in utilizing mineral resources in an environmentally friendly manner, while strengthening national energy security.

Not only in Asia, President Prabowo’s economic diplomacy also moves to the United States. During his visit to Washington DC, he held a meeting with corporate members of The United States – Indonesia Society (USINDO).

Several American giants, such as Freeport, Chevron, and General Electric, have shown enthusiasm in investing in Indonesia. Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the trust given by US companies to the Indonesian economy.

President Prabowo encouraged them to continue their investment and contribution to national development, stating that their participation was an important step in strengthening the nation’s economic foundation.

Minister of Investment and Downstream, Rosan Roeslani, who also attended the meeting, said that President Prabowo emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity in investment management. For him, corruption is a “cancer” that damages the economy, and he emphasized a firm stance to not tolerate corrupt behavior at all levels of government.

The message was welcomed by the company executives in attendance, who felt they had received certainty and clarity in the Indonesian government’s commitment to improving the investment climate in the country.

In addition, discussions on investment in carbon capture and geothermal technologies demonstrated attention to renewable energy as important for environmental sustainability and Indonesia’s net zero emission target.

In Peru, President Prabowo’s diplomacy also yielded important results. Peruvian President Dina Boluarte awarded him the “ Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru ,” Peru’s highest honor given to international figures with outstanding contributions.

President Prabowo accepted the award with honor, expressing his appreciation for the deep friendship between Indonesia and Peru. Boluarte said that Indonesia is Peru’s eighth largest trading partner in Asia, and he sees great potential for new cooperation between the two countries, especially in strategic sectors.

The visit also resulted in a Visa Exemption Agreement for diplomatic and service passport holders from both countries, indicating the increasingly close diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru. The bilateral meeting ended with a discussion on cooperation in areas that support sustainable economic growth and infrastructure development.

The visits to several major countries reflect President Prabowo’s vision to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global economy. His strategic steps have not only resulted in trillions of investment commitments, but also demonstrated strong diplomatic leadership in expanding international cooperation networks.

President Prabowo’s views on the importance of regional cooperation, especially in the areas of renewable energy and infrastructure development, show that he understands the importance of preparing Indonesia to face global challenges.

The economic diplomacy built by the Head of State not only brings direct benefits in the form of investment flows, but is also a significant step in positioning Indonesia as an important player in the world economic arena.

Intensive diplomatic visits and strategies to strengthen cooperation with these major countries are proof of President Prabowo’s commitment to building a highly competitive and independent national economy.

Through a mature approach in economic diplomacy and a strategy to strengthen international cooperation, President Prabowo has succeeded in showing the world that Indonesia is a competent partner, committed to sustainable development, and ready to compete on the global stage.
