The Key Role of Communities in Supporting Drug Abuse Prevention in Local Environments
The threat of drugs continues to be a serious problem that can damage the lives of individuals, families, and communities. In facing this challenge, the active role of the community is the main key to creating an environment free from the dangers of drugs.
In supporting the drug eradication program in line with the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s Asta Cita, the Tanjung Redeb Police held a socialization entitled “The Dangers of Drug Abuse” at the Tanjung Redeb Village Hall, Jalan Mangga 1.
The socialization that took place on Thursday afternoon involved 20 participants, including the RT Head, PKK activists, posyandu cadres, and the Head of LPM Tanjung Redeb Village. The active role of community leaders and village officials is very important in building public awareness of the dangers of drugs.
“We invite all elements of society to become agents of change. This activity is not just about providing information, but also inspiring the community to be more concerned and active in fighting drugs in their environment,” said Iptu Leo Rifanto.
With the presence of various parties, this event became a forum for discussion to raise awareness of the negative impacts of drug abuse and preventive measures that can be taken collectively.

The activity includes the delivery of educational materials, a Q&A session, and the signing of a joint commitment as a form of anti-drug declaration by the participants. Participants are also invited to play an active role in monitoring the surrounding environment and reporting suspicious activities to the authorities.
