Government Ensures 2024 Elections are On Schedule and No Delays
Jakarta — The Director General for Politics and General Administration of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Bahtiar emphasized that the Government ensures that the 2024 elections are on schedule, namely February 14, 2024.
The reason is, according to him, the government has been preparing everything for the holding of the 2024 elections since the last three years. Starting from various institutions are also very ready to welcome the democratic party.
“In conclusion, all state administrators apart from the KPU, Bawaslu, and DKPP, are all on. That’s about it,” said Bahtiar.
Furthermore, Bahtiar revealed that the funding that had been prepared by the government was also sufficient.
“Enough, sufficient (budget),” he said.
This is because the KPU has carried out a number of innovations to make savings on budget spending.
In fact, he had firmly admitted that he would continue to fight those who tried to postpone the 2024 elections and promised that elections would never be postponed as long as he was still in office.
“So what I promised my friends, as long as Bahtiar is still the Director General of Polpum, there will never be a postponement of the election,” said Bahtiar.
In line, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD also stated that indeed the government had seriously prepared for the 2024 Election and there was no delay in the democratic party.
He said that being one of the people who is responsible so that the holding of elections can run well.
“I am one of those responsible for the election to be carried out properly,” Mahfud MD.
The former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court then explained that elections should indeed be carried out in an orderly manner so that there are no disturbances and obstacles.
“Well, now it’s a fight not abysmally. Undisciplined. That is what we have to put in order in the future because the reforms have had good results,” he said.
On a different occasion, the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo himself has also emphasized that there is absolutely no delay in the Election.
“I think it’s clear that everyone already knows that the elections will be held on February 14, 2024,” he said.
According to the President, everything will be carried out according to the agreement, namely on February 14 and also the Pilkada in November 2024.
“Because it is clear that we have agreed that the elections will be held on February 14 and the Pilkada will be held later in November 2024, everything is clear,” said the seventh Indonesian President.
