The State Intelligence Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BIN RI) educates the nation’s young generation to be able to share and learn from each other and uphold a sense of tolerance through the existence of the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) in Manado.
With the diversity of backgrounds that exist among people in Indonesia, including young people, in reality this does not need to be an arena for struggle or conflict.
Instead, the diversity of backgrounds that the younger generation has can be something that is very useful, namely being able to complement each other if they can make the best use of it by sharing and learning from each other and upholding a high attitude or sense of tolerance.
Building a sense of mutual tolerance between young people is one of the important materials taught at the Manado Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN) under the guidance of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN). In this program, it is possible for young generations with different backgrounds to live in harmony side by side under the same roof.
Idham Malik, Deputy Chair of the AMN Manado Working Group (Wakapokja), said that the main aim of building the dormitory was to unite all students of the next generation of the nation in Indonesia from various regions.
Highlighting how important it is to foster a sense of mutual tolerance among young people as early as possible, the Head of the Center for Character Strengthening of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Rusprita Putri Utami, considers that there is a great need for space that allows the nation’s future young generation to be able to interact with each other openly. be positive with each other even from different backgrounds.
The reason is, this will spark respect, curiosity about other cultures and also a sense of tolerance from young people in Indonesia, especially students from various regions throughout the archipelago.
If they can get used to building friendships as early as possible with friends who have diverse backgrounds, it will make young people have a much broader perspective and break down various prejudices in their heads.
Friends with diverse backgrounds can train your ability to communicate, encourage creativity, think critically and foster a strong sense of empathy for others.
Meanwhile, one of the Manado student activities, Dwi Purnama, assessed that the existence of the building which stands on 5 hectares of land is like an enlightening entity amidst the lives of today’s youth.
This assumption is because AMN Manado is not only a physical building to facilitate or become a forum for the young generation to carry out positive activities, but also as a sign of unifying milestones between young people from various backgrounds.
They all have very different backgrounds, including various ideologies, living in harmony together and side by side under one roof. So that young people from various corners of Indonesia have the power to unite the pluralistic society of this country.
Apart from that, the approach of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) in the Nusantara Student Dormitory also received a lot of high appreciation, because it uses steps that are very appropriate and relevant for young people.
AMN Manado prioritizes various ways that young people enjoy, such as positive activities, namely dialogue, discussions and carrying out many social activities. With this right approach, young people who are the next generation of the nation will be able to live in harmony side by side even though they encounter extraordinary diversity, ranging from different cultures, religions to ethnicities.
Likewise, the Governor of North Sulawesi Province (Sulut) through the Provincial Secretary (Sekprov) Steve Kepel said that the existence of the Nusantara Student Dormitory could make a very significant contribution, especially to the sustainability of human resource (HR) development among youth in the local area.
This is because the construction of AMN Manado is not only physical work, but also a symbol of the strong commitment of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) through the institution led by Police General (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan to create a conducive environment for all students from various regions in the country so that they can learn and share with each other.
So that the existence of the Nusantara Student Dormitory is not only a learning facility for students at the tertiary level, but is also able to become a means for them to continue to realize their creations and collaborate in improving regional development, especially in the North Sulawesi Province (Sulut), as well as making Young people contribute significantly to nation building.
The existence of AMN Manado is a very significant step from BIN to fully support the nation’s vision of creating a superior young generation and preparing them to compete, not only nationally but also internationally.
The training of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) for the nation’s future young generation to be able to share and learn to uphold attitudes and a sense of tolerance is realized through the existence of the Manado Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN).
