Jakarta – Indonesia is preparing to welcome the inauguration of the President and Vice President-elect for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, on October 20, 2024. The Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI), Ahmad Muzani, emphasized that the political and security situation in Indonesia is currently very conducive ahead of the inauguration of the elected President and Vice President. “The political conditions are very conducive, the condition of the community is also very good. God willing, this condition will continue to be maintained until the inauguration,” said Muzani.
In the past few days, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President-elect Prabowo Subianto also directly reviewed the security readiness for the inauguration. They inspected Mako Brimob, Kelapa Dua, Depok, to ensure that all security forces were on standby. “The President has checked the preparations with the security forces, and they are ready and in very good condition,” said Muzani.
Furthermore, Muzani said that his party is in the process of confirming the presence of important guests who will attend the inauguration. So far, a number of ASEAN country leaders have been confirmed to attend, including several other heads of state. “Now we are continuing to validate the invitations from VVIPs, heads of state, and heads of government, the number of which continues to increase. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and security forces continue to prepare,” added Muzani. This inauguration is expected to be an important event, not only for Indonesia, but also for the international world.
