Supporting Security Forces to Eradicate OPM for the Smoothness of National Development
The community fully supports the efforts and hard work of the security forces from the TNI, Polri, to the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) in taking firm action against the Free Papua Organization (OPM), one of the ways is by carrying out raids on the headquarters of separatist gangs enemies of the country for the sake of smooth development in The area is nicknamed the Earth of Cenderawasih.
With this decisive action from the security forces, namely acting very quickly and responsively, including not being afraid to carry out raids and occupying OPM headquarters, this reduced their power and ensured peace returned to society.
Because so far, one of the main and biggest obstacles to the Government’s efforts to continue to accelerate development and progress in Papua is the existence of the OPM and the series of atrocities they have committed.

For your information, the government continues to strive to accelerate development evenly throughout the archipelago without leaving any region behind, including Bumi Cenderawasih.
In Papua, the government continues to aggressively carry out a series of development projects, such as the Papua Bangkir Stadium, the TransPapua Road, a special women’s market, allocating special funds, and the construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH).
Because of the government’s intensive efforts to develop the region nicknamed Little Heaven that Fell to Earth, several of the nation’s young future generations there have been able to grow and develop into highly accomplished children.
Jose Nerotow, an elementary school (SD) student who excels in mathematics. Thanks to the large amount of assistance from the government in the field of education that is equal and accessible to all parties in Papua, he was even a young lecturer at Cenderawasih University (Uncen) and taught in front of students regarding Calculus material.
How extraordinary and intelligent Jose is, also caught Elon Musk’s attention when they met at the World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali some time ago.
Apart from that, the government is not only just physically developing in Papua with various infrastructure projects, but developing the quality of Bumi Cenderawasih’s human resources (HR) also continues to be a concern with the free education project.
The XIV Higher Education Services Institute (LLDIKTI) stated that in 2024 the number of Papuan students receiving higher education scholarships will continue to increase to 13,760 people. This figure has increased from 2023 which was only 11,500 people.
The government’s seriousness in accelerating development, both physically and in the quality of human resources in Papua is truly strong. From data from the Ministry of Education and Culture for the 2023 fiscal year, the government has provided scholarships to 7,614 students from Bumi Cenderawasih, Special Region or 3T and children of repatriates or migrant workers through the Higher Education Affirmation Program (ADIK). In total, 1,321 people or around 17.35 percent were students who graduated from Affirmative Secondary Education (ADEM) from Papua.
All the commitment and seriousness in accelerating the acceleration of development in Papua is in fact if there is still the Free Papua Organization (OPM), then everything will be very hampered.
Therefore, the security forces are trying to expel terrorist groups that are enemies of the country, one of which is by raiding their headquarters. The Indonesian National Army (TNI) succeeded in occupying the OPM headquarters in Maybrat Regency, Southwest Papua after a firefight occurred with Task Force 133/Yudha Sakti. Task Force Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry (Lt. Col. Inf) Andhika Ganessakti said that his troops had succeeded in taking control of the OPM headquarters.
Because of the unyielding hard work of the security forces to ensure that all areas of Bumi Cenderawasih are conducive and peaceful, many people have given their full support to eradicate OPM.
According to the Habema Koops Media Task Force, Lt. Col. Arh Yogi Nugroho, the Papuan people and also local traditional leaders have never accepted the presence of separatist gangs because they always carry out arbitrary and cruel actions.
Various kinds of disgraceful and inhumane actions by the OPM often occur and they actually carry them out to intimidate members of the public. Therefore, in the face of interference from the Free Papua Organization, community leaders represented the voices of local residents, conveying their full support for the operations of the security forces.
Other support also came directly from the Chairman of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, Bambang Soesatyo, who emphasized that the safety of the nation and state is above all. In fact, he is ready to step in directly if there are still parties who question human rights regarding the security forces’ firm action against the OPM.
Of course, full support from various parties continues to flow towards the security forces’ efforts to take firm action against the Free Papua Organization (OPM), one of which is the clear evidence of the successful raid on their headquarters. All of this is for the smooth acceleration of development that the government is intensifying in Papua.
