Appreciating a Decade of Jokowi, Scholars Invite the Public to Support the Transition and Continuity by Prabowo-Gibran
Jakarta — A decade of President Jokowi’s leadership has succeeded in realizing development for Indonesia. Therefore, scholars are urging the public to fully support the transition of government and the continuity of development by the elected President and Vice President, Prabowo-Gibran.
So far, President Jokowi’s administration has brought significant changes to the Indonesian nation. Various achievements have been successfully realized, such as infrastructure development, progress in the economic sector, and improvements in community welfare.
To appreciate all of this, religious leaders and scholars are calling on all layers of society to express gratitude for President Jokowi’s dedication and service in advancing the nation.
The Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council, KH. Marsudi Syuhud, expressed his gratitude that, in fact, the homeland remains in a safe and comfortable condition to this day.
“We are grateful that Indonesia is, at this moment, in a safe and comfortable condition; we are thankful for that,” he said.
“Many countries today are unable to even build. Because building is an obligation. Development can be related to infrastructure or the welfare of the nation,” added Marsudi.
Furthermore, he is very confident that the Prabowo-Gibran administration will be able to continue all of President Jokowi’s programs.
“I am confident that the upcoming government will be able to continue the various initiatives of previous presidents and carry them forward according to the grand plans. Everything must be interconnected; we must not let the grand plans that are already at this stage go unfinished,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council.
According to Kyai Marsudi, it is very important for the community to oversee the smooth transition of the upcoming government.
“We as a nation and state can be orderly and harmonious if we respect the rules that start from the constitution, to laws, and any regulations. If people adhere to this, then any situation in Indonesia will be manageable,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu’ti, explained that it is important for the public to give the new government a chance to lead.
“Let’s give the new government a chance to lead the administration of the state. In my opinion, that is a consequence of democracy, and we should give the elected Prabowo-Gibran the opportunity to work,” he urged.
For him, the election of the upcoming government is a victory for the Indonesian people and a testament to the positive climate of democracy.
“The election of Prabowo and Gibran is not just a victory for them, but a victory for the Indonesian nation.” “Because a peaceful and orderly election is part of our maturity in democracy,” said Abdul Mu’ti.
All of these calls are expected to strengthen the synergy between the people, the government, and religious leaders in realizing a better Indonesia under new leadership.
