The month of Ramadan should be welcomed with joy, especially for Muslims. This is because Ramadan is a month full of blessings, where the deeds – good deeds done, will be rewarded with multiples compared to other months.
Being a destiny, this year’s Ramadan month falls after the 2019 Election is held. With the various hustle and bustle of hoaxes and the utterances of hatred that circulate do not know the time, it certainly results in the looseness of brotherly relationships with other people of different choices.
The moment of Ramadan, it should be a moment to mutually improve the Islamic Brotherhood, after the voting on April 17, the community certainly can calm down and continue to maintain national unity, so that various hot things on social media can be addressed wisely so that they are not easily provoked.
Indeed, politics certainly leaves a residue in the form of polarization which makes relations between communities increasingly tenuous. But the election was over, it was time to reduce the desire for politics and focus on the practice of the 3rd principle, namely the unity of Indonesia.
It is no longer the time, we are trapped in an atmosphere of identity politics that only gives pseudo pleasures, in the life of the nation and state of course all parties have a role to unite in knitting brotherhood, starting with greetings or sitting together and asking each other questions.
Ramadan will certainly be a good time for Muslims to calm down. We must be aware that differences in elections are a necessity. But that does not mean that this then creates a split between fellow Indonesian citizens.
The High Priest of the Istiqlal Mosque also had time to invite Muslims to welcome the month of Ramadhan with full calm, happiness and peace.
“Never blaspheme people, true scholars will never blaspheme people. “True ulama will never underestimate others, while we are fasting,” said Nasarudin.
He emphasized that the Indonesian people should be grateful for the democratic system that applies in Indonesia. Because, according to him, many countries do not provide space for citizens to express their aspirations.
Unity will certainly be realized if each party mutually fights one another, and does not blaspheme each other just because of different choices or political ideology.
The difference must actually be the strength as outlined by the founders of the nation in the spirit of Unity in Diversity, and it is appropriate if there are deficiencies in the election administration, it is certainly our joint task to improve it.
The shortcomings should not destroy the foundation and pillars of the well-built democracy building teachers. The shortcomings must certainly be the material for our introspection, for us to improve in the constitutional realm.
The coming of Ramadan is certainly a moment for every Muslim to reduce worldly lust. Besides that Ramadan must also be made a reward field for Muslims without exception.
Control of lust that comes from the five senses will form a commendable behavior. Refraining from hunger and thirst leads us to build solidarity with those who are less fortunate.
Fasting also not only holds back hunger and thirst, because fasting also requires us to avoid ourselves from despicable behaviors such as lying, gossiping, false swearing, pitting sheep, slandering and spreading hoaxes.
Re-understanding the meaning of the essence of fasting becomes important at this time, when people, especially social media users are hit by the swift news and utterances, including misinformation and disinformation that are increasingly troubling.
The irony is that the people who in fact are educated do not have immunity to the contamination of these symptoms. Regarding the election that was just over and now the calculation phase is still being carried out by the KPU, of course we hope that all parties can hold back, in accordance with the essence of fasting in the holy month.
Muslim Intellect leader Komarudin Hidayat believes that God has other plans behind the chaos of the debate between the two supporters of the presidential and vice presidential election in the 2019 presidential election.
According to him, God has predetermined simultaneous elections held close to the Holy month of Ramadan. We certainly hope that with the coming of Ramadan, all sympathizers involved in the 2019 election can forgive each other.
