The pre-employment card is a government breakthrough to tackle unemployment. By having this card, the community will get training and improve skills, which can be used as entrepreneurial capital. The pre-employment card was very welcomed with enthusiasm by the people especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

The pre-employment card is a program promised by President Joko Widodo at the beginning of the campaign period. This promise is truly kept, since the beginning of April, the registration of this card has begun through the official website. In total, more than 8 million people registered with the website, and even the server had hangs because of the enthusiasm of the public who wanted to get it and enter the site simultaneously.

Pre-work card registration is divided into 2 periods. The first wave from 11 to 16 April, while the second from 20 to 23 April. The community was immediately enthusiastic and registered and completed the form online . In the first wave alone the total registrants were more than 6 million people. This proves they want to move forward and escape from the snares of poverty.

The community welcomed the pre-employment card happily, because this card was not just a social assistance or subsidy for unemployed as happened in several other countries. There was indeed assistance in the form of money as much as 3,550,000 rupiah. However, some of the money is used by pre-work card owners for training costs that can be followed by them. The training included in the fields of beauty, technology, entrepreneurship, and others. So the community can choose which workshop they are most interested in.

Pre-work card participant training can also be done online (in addition to offline training ). So it is more practical because it does not have to pay for transportation costs and can be done at home, with a capital of a laptop or smartphone . Especially in the midst of a pandemic Covid-19 training offline certainly at higher risk, so it is more suitable to conduct workshops in online .

After getting the training, participants will get an allowance of 400,000 rupiah which will be transferred gradually over a period of 6 months. This money is expected not to be consumed consumptively, but is used for transportation costs to apply for work. Or used for venture capital.

In addition to getting an allowance, card holders also get a certificate that can be used in the workforce. They can also open their own businesses because they already have the capital in the form of skills. It would be better when people do their own business, because in addition to being able to work independently, they can also eliminate other unemployment when they need employees.

Of the 8 million pre-work card registrants, only 100,000 have qualified. The selection process is carried out rigorously, by checking the residence identification number on the KTP, a clear photo of yourself, address, cellphone number, and other data. This check must be done so that the pre-work card is actually obtained by people who need it, not just for the fun of registering.

The pre-employment card program was very well received by the community because in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic unemployment increased because many factories were closed. So, launching a card in not April is very appropriate to help them get a job immediately. Also freed from the burden of having to support a child and wife even though they do not have fixed income, after no longer being an employee.

Pre-employment cards are an excellent government program because they can get people to gain new skills after attending training. In addition there is an allowance for card holders whose nominal is not bad. Not surprisingly, the card registrants reached 8 million people and they really hope to pass the selection. Hopefully after getting this card, the unemployed will decrease and can work happily.
