Radical organizations continue to guerrilla even though their status has been dissolved. They use social media to find new prey. To fight radical mass organization propaganda, it is necessary to carry out Pancasila value literacy on social media. The goal is that netizens are not poisoned by radicalism and that Indonesia’s unity remains intact.
Our society uses social media every day, even Indonesian netizens are claimed to be number 3 Facebook users in the world. But unfortunately, apart from adding friends and networking, there are dangers lurking on social media, namely hoaxes and propaganda. If you are not careful, you can be trapped and enticed by radicalism.
Radical organizations have been carrying out propaganda everywhere since several years ago, and they choose social media because of its diverse users. Starting from young people to adults. Their target is netizens who too easily believe in hoaxes, so they don’t know that what they read is fake news which is propaganda by radical groups.
Radical organizations use the latest issues for propaganda to increase their supporters. When the Covid-19 pandemic had just started, news was circulating that the disease was made in the communist country, because it originated in Wuhan. Moreover, when the government bought the Sinovac vaccine made in China, they immediately claimed it was haram, even though MUI had guaranteed its halalness.
Apart from that, radical organizations always favor the concept of a caliphate state so that Indonesia can advance. Even though it is precisely the caliphate that will destroy this country, because they will replace Pancasila as the basis of the state. The ideology of the caliphate is incompatible with Indonesia’s pluralistic society and has 6 different beliefs.
Deputy Chancellor for UIN Cooperation Syarif Hidayatullah, Prof. Dr. Murodi, M.Ag stated that if there are people who want to replace the Pancasila ideology with another, then they are not Indonesian citizens, and please leave the Republic of Indonesia. This statement confirms that Pancasila is the basis of the state. No one can change it, because it will betray the struggle of the state plocamator.
In order to fight radical mass organization propaganda on social media, several methods are needed. First, when there is radical content, just report it to Instagram or Facebook. If there are accounts that are busy reporting, because radical accounts create hate speech status or spread hoaxes, they can be blocked. We can also report on the cyber police account.
Second, there needs to be content on social media that invites netizens to be literate in Pancasila literacy, so they don’t just memorize the 5 precepts. Pancasila literacy is a movement to provide knowledge and understanding of Pancasila values. So that they can practice and preserve Pancasila in everyday life.
An example of this movement is creating a graphic content contest with the theme of Pancasila and nationalism, which is held on Instagram and Facebook. Because many young Indonesians use these 2 social media. Later the content can be shared so that more netizens will understand the application of Pancasila and strengthen their sense of nationalism.
In addition, the Pancasila literacy campaign can also be carried out through hashtags such as #kitaindonesiakitapancasila #cintapancasila, and others. Netizens will be happy and create status with this hashtag, which contains teachings to love Pancasila. Because Pancasila is not only in textbooks, but must be applied in everyday life.
Pancasila literacy in social media needs to be done together to make it more compact. Netizens will ward off attacks by radical content, because what is trending on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook is love Pancasila. We can also educate other people to check news on social media, so that they are not caught in hoaxes and deceived by radicalism propaganda.
