Great appreciation should be given to the government of the Republic of Indonesia with its strong commitment to be able to solve all the problems caused by KST Papua as soon as possible by using a comprehensive approach and through the culture and welfare of the indigenous Papuan people (OAP).

Problem after problem is indeed being carried out and carried out by the Papuan Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) in Cenderawasih Earth itself, which with the many acts of violence that they have intensified, of course, has resulted in many negative impacts being felt by the indigenous people of Papua (OAP). Alone.

Regarding this matter, Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) Bambang Soesatyo said that Indonesia is indeed currently facing threats related to the non-traditional security sector. Some of these security threats are related to terrorism and cyber warfare.

Furthermore, in order to be able to deal with these various kinds of threats, even now many of the international community are continuing to work together to be able to create international frameworks and mechanisms in dealing with these various threats much more effectively.

If you look at the cases of threats to security in the country itself, the Chairman of the MPR RI, who is familiarly called Bamsoet, said that in the country there are still problems such as resistance from separatist groups in Cenderawasih Earth. One way to solve this problem is to use a cultural and welfare approach.

It is undeniable that if indeed the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) wants to resolve all issues related to the existence of KST Papua, then this settlement should use a comprehensive method, so that it does not rely solely on firm and measured actions from the security forces from the personnel ranks. combined, but also put forward a humanist approach.

It is no less important, there must be very firm action to be able to take action against any misappropriation of funds related to special autonomy (otsus) because at all this practice will make the funds disbursed by the government not right on target and will actually be very detrimental to the interests of the Papuan people Alone.

Meanwhile, the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) of the Republic of Indonesia also fully supports the commitment of the Government together with the ranks of the security forces represented by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Admiral Yudo Margono and also the Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri). ) Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo regarding conflict resolution in Maybrat District, West Papua Province.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian National Commission on Human Rights, Atnike Nova Sigiro, revealed that his party also supports various steps of coordination by all parties that have previously been carried out so that the handling of refugees affected by conflict can be carried out in a very comprehensive manner, the main thing is to be able to continue to pay attention to vulnerable groups. such as children, the elderly (elderly), women and also people with disabilities.

On another occasion, Chairperson of the People’s Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) Puan Maharani also alluded to the various kinds of violence that had been perpetrated by KST Papua so far. He asked that the Government of Indonesia be able to prepare various kinds of special strategies to be able to overcome this because indeed the violence was being carried out repeatedly by the separatist group in Bumi Cenderawasih so that it needed a lot of special attention from all related parties.

As is known, KST burned down the Ilaga SMAN 1 Library Building on August 17 2023, at around 13.28 WIT. The heinous arson action was carried out by KST led by Titus Murib. The day before, three residents were reported dead after a shooting allegedly carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) at the Yosoma Complex, Jalan Batas Batu, Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains.

Until now, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia itself has been looking for various solutions and strategies that are very appropriate to be able to overcome an unsafe situation with various actions that seriously threaten the safety of civilians and even many other actions that have also caused casualties, both from the security forces. security to civilians themselves.

Some of the steps taken by the government are not only taking firm action and prioritizing the military, but these actions are also very measurable. This is because the Government of Indonesia itself also cooperates with various stakeholders or related stakeholders such as religious leaders such as the Church. Apart from that, the government is also working with many other parties such as community leaders, traditional leaders, to local regional governments to be able to optimally solve problems.

As said by the Chairman of the MPR RI, Bambang Soesatyo, it is indeed very important to have a comprehensive approach which includes taking into account cultural and welfare approaches for the Papuan people.

All the problems that have arisen and have been raised by KST Papua must be handled as soon as possible using a comprehensive approach as well. Because if this is not the case, then a prolonged negative impact will continue to be generated. So that the strong commitment possessed by the Government of Indonesia in solving this problem deserves the highest possible appreciation.
