The Free Papua Organization (OPM) is very disturbing to the community because it continues to terrorize the community, including in Bibida District, Paniai Regency, which makes residents have to flee for their safety. Therefore, all elements of Papuan society should support firm action against the OPM so that peace can be realized immediately.
The OPM terror act has made the people of Bibida District, Paniai Regency anxious, because the OPM is very disturbing, they even have the heart to shoot residents. As is known, since June 14 2024, the OPM has controlled the Bibida District when security forces gave chase, the OPM group under the leadership of Undius Kogoya shot residents.
The terror directed at the residents of Bibida District forced them to become refugees. The community had to evacuate by truck to another area, namely Madi Church, Paniai Regency. Not only that, OPM’s disturbing actions were also proven to have damaged public facilities, namely the Community Health Center and the bridge there.

Sadistic and inhumane actions, OPM destroyed public facilities and killed innocent civilians. OPM’s cruelty is strongly criticized by the entire community because it does not think about the common interest, but only thinks about its own interests.
Commander of the Habema Koops Media Task Force, Lt. Col. Arh Yogi Nugroho, said that the OPM had not yet stopped disrupting the conduciveness of the Bibida area. In fact, they tried various efforts to continuously terrorize the community. In fact, the local community did not have any fault. It is very clear that this actually violates Human Rights (HAM) and should be eradicated.
Nevertheless, the Indonesian Government and the TNI-Polri security forces ensure that they continue to provide protection and provide the best service for the people in the Land of Papua. This is to create conduciveness in the Papua region, so that the local community does not need to worry about the OPM’s disturbing presence.
Security forces continue to patrol the Bibida Village/District area, Paniai Regency, Central Papua Province, which is often used as a sadistic OPM terror act against innocent people. Meanwhile, the Maybrat Resort Police (Polres), Southwest Papua, are also intensively carrying out patrols to increase security and security in order to maintain the Kamtibmas situation on OPM day on July 1.
Deputy Head of the Maybrat Resort Police (Wakapolres), AKP Muhammad Rusli, in Kumurkek, said that his personnel must always be alert and alert to any possible security disturbances that could occur by the OPM. They also collaborate with related agencies to maintain synergy with the community.
In line with this, Chairman II of the Saireri Traditional Youth, Ali Kabiay, said that the OPM’s current struggle is not defending Papuans, meaning that they, the OPM, are not purely defending Papuans, but only for the interests of certain individuals. Even though other countries are competing economically, the OPM is still busy carrying out sadistic acts of violence and terror against its own Papuan brothers.
Likewise, the Chairman of the Red and White Front for Papua Province, Max Abner Ohee, emphasized that he was giving a statement rejecting the OPM in Papua because many civilians had become victims and asked the TNI-Polri security forces to pursue and take firm action against the perpetrators.
The reason is, the presence of OPM in Tanah Papua could actually hinder growth in Bumi Cendrawasih itself. How could it not be, OPM has had a negative impact and also caused suffering and misery for the civil society around there who didn’t know anything. In fact, OPM actually obstructs development in Papua for its own interests.
The Papuan people themselves have even emphasized that they will not tolerate the presence of OPM in their territory. Residents also urged the Indonesian government to take firm action against acts of terror carried out by the sadistic OPM. The Indonesian government also continues to strive to overcome this problem by inviting all components of society to unite to fight separatism and extremism which threaten the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.
The Land of Papua is an integral part of the inseparable Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, so if there are individuals like the OPM who speak out loud, the Papuan people will very firmly reject their existence in the Land of Papua. Because they also realize that the sovereignty, unity and unity of the Republic of Indonesia is very important compared to the OPM’s unreasonable ideology which prioritizes its own desires.
The government’s efforts to create a conducive situation for the Papuan people should be appreciated, together with traditional leaders and related parties, the Papuan people are given the best service and do not need to worry. The combined security forces also continue to be committed to protecting civilians on Earth of Cendrawasih.

Other efforts include continuing to mediate the Papuan conflict and seeking solutions from various parties, both local and international.
