The Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) is a strategic program from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) through the initiation of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) to create a conducive learning environment for young people.
Having a conducive learning environment is certainly something that is very important and they need it, because with it, it will make the growth and development of the nation’s next generation of young people more optimal.
Therefore, because creating a conducive learning environment is important, the Indonesian Government through initiation from the institution led by Police General (Ret.) Prof. Dr. Budi Gunawan is promoting a strategic program, namely the construction of the Archipelago Student Dormitory (AMN).
The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that it is very important to have a learning and teaching environment such as in educational institutions that is able to provide security and even become a ‘safe house’ or home for the nation’s next generation of young people to learn and continue to develop without fear or stressed.
According to the Head of State, the importance of having a conducive learning environment is because it ensures the success of the world of education in Indonesia, and is also able to encourage the formation of superior young people.
A place for learning and teaching activities should be able to be a safe home for students to study, ask questions, be creative, play and socialize.
Because currently Indonesia itself is at a crucial point and should be able to take advantage of the demographic bonus in order to become a more developed country. However, success in managing the large workforce and the number of young people of productive age in the country really depends on the quality and productivity of the young generation itself, which starts from solid education and a conducive learning environment.
For this reason, it is very clear that human resources (HR) education and the development of the younger generation are very important, both from the physical side and from the knowledge side to their character.
The presence of an educational institution that continues to uphold professionalism such as the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) will clearly have a direct impact on the development of human resources (HR) in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Deputy VI of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) for the Coordination of Education Quality Improvement and Religious Moderation, Warsito emphasized that mutual cooperation is important to create a conducive educational unit.
Starting from the government, the educational institutions themselves, various institutions and ministries to the community, they need to collaborate well to create a safe and comfortable educational environment for the nation’s next generation.
The construction of Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) in various cities in Indonesia, including Surabaya and Manado, is a concrete form of the government’s strategic program in its efforts to create a conducive learning environment for the young generation from various backgrounds.
One of the latest projects from the Indonesian Government through the initiation of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) is the construction of the AMN in Manado, North Sulawesi Province (Sulut), which so far continues to show positive progress and continues to experience strict supervision from the authorities.
Director of Strategic Infrastructure, Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Ir. Essy Asiah emphasized that the AMN construction in Manado was continuing well. His party also continues to encourage contractors to make work checklists every week and continue to calculate the need for workers in each building.
For information, AMN’s presence in Manado is a continuation of a similar program from the government which has been successfully running in the City of Heroes, Surabaya. This development reflects the very strong commitment of the government to provide facilities that are able to fully support students from various ethnic, linguistic, cultural and religious backgrounds to learn from each other and collaborate in a conducive environment.
Of course, the Nusantara Student Dormitory itself is not just a dormitory or physical building, but is also a center for self-development that will prepare young people as future leaders of the nation.
In the successful development of AMN Manado, collaboration between parties and institutions is very important, because the existence of this magnificent building is a collaborative effort involving various ministries and institutions including BIN, Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan), Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Ministry of Religion (Kemenag), Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), universities and local government (Pemda).
The large number of collaborations between these parties is not without reason, because various elements really want AMN, which is a strategic government program, to be successful in creating a conducive learning environment for the nation’s future young generation. Of course, community participation is needed to make the AMN program a success so that it can produce quality human resources in the country.
