Always putting Papua in unsafe conditions and conditions, the Free Papua Organization (OPM) has again carried out cruel and barbaric actions by killing civilians in Yahukimo.
From this it can be seen that in carrying out this brutal, inhumane action, the OPM did not indiscriminately injure and even kill anyone they considered to be in their way, even including indigenous Papuan civilians (OAP) themselves who were completely innocent.
As a result of the very sadistic killings of civilians in Yahukimo, suddenly the conditions and situation in Papua have made people anxious. All of these things are because of the existence of OPM.
Recently, security and public order (kamtibmas) disturbances occurred again, the perpetrator of which was none other than the Free Papua Organization in the Yahukimo area, Papua Mountains.
Head of the Public Relations Division of the Regional Police (Kabid Humas Polda) Papua, Police Commissioner (Kombes Pol) Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo explained that the security disturbance in Yahukimo took the form of a shooting attack on officers who were actually on guard at PT’s road and bridge repair project. Garanta is located on the Kampung Massi road, Dekal District, Yahukimo Regency.
As a result of an incident of attack on security forces from the joint forces of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), one person named Abdul Muzakir, 29 years old, was killed.
What’s even sadder is that the victim, who was a civilian, died because of severe persecution against him by the Free Papua Organization. The method of killing by carrying out severe abuse is truly cruel and barbaric.
According to the Chief of the Yahukimo Resort Police (Kapolres), Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Heru Hidayanto, this very tragic incident began at around 12:20 WIT when security personnel on guard duty in the road repair area were disturbed by a group of terrorists who were enemies of the state. the.
Security forces received interference from OPM, namely in the form of up to 4 shots fired at heavy equipment at the scene. Not long after, a truck passed which contained civilians and was located not far from the disturbance, causing obstruction by a number of people.
Suddenly, because there was a commotion and also obstruction by a number of people, the civilians who were riding in the truck immediately ran away. After receiving reports from the public because the situation was not conducive, the security forces immediately moved quickly to the location of the incident.
However, it turned out that when the security forces arrived at the scene and after carrying out the combing process, it turned out that the OPM had already fled because they were afraid to face the personnel.
Even so, at the crime scene (TKP), security forces found one of the civilians named Abdul Muzakir, 29 years old, who was lying covered in blood and the truck he was riding in was already on fire.
Likewise, the Head of Operations (Kaops) Damai Cartenz, Brigadier General of Police (Brigjen Pol) Faizal Ramadhani confirmed that there had indeed been a murder case which resulted in the death of civilians along with the burning of a truck by the OPM.
Upon learning of the actions of the separatist gang from the area nicknamed Bumi Cenderawasih, the security forces immediately intensified patrols and searches as well as pursuit of the perpetrators of this heinous and barbaric act.
The pursuit effort itself was carried out by personnel from the joint security forces of the Yahukimo Police with the ranks of the Cartenz 2024 Peace Task Force. Apart from that, examinations were also carried out on witnesses in order to find out what the characteristics of the perpetrators were and carry out further investigations.
All security apparatus personnel continue to increase the preparedness and vigilance of each member to anticipate whatever and however the current situation and conditions develop in the Yahukimo Police jurisdiction.
Of course, all levels of security forces are very strongly committed to never stopping in their pursuit until all the perpetrators are caught and take very strict action.
This is because security and order throughout the Land of Papua is the responsibility of the Government through the ranks of the security forces. Not only that, but the local community should be able to remain calm and not be easily provoked by the OPM and be able to work together in realizing a safe and peaceful Earth of Cenderawasih by reporting to the authorities if they encounter any movements from terrorist groups that are enemies of the country.
With good and integrated cooperation with all local communities of indigenous Papuans (OAP), it is not impossible that the security and social security situation in Yahukimo will be able to gradually recover after being tense and heated due to the OPM’s barbaric actions.
The OPM continues to act cruelly and barbarically by spreading terror among the community, including in the Yahukimo area, so that the local community is worried due to cases of murder of civilians.
