All parties have an equally important role as a responsibility to be able to create the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) which will take place safely and peacefully. The realization of this is much more effective if various elements establish good cooperation.
The regional political contest is one of the most important moments, especially in the journey of democracy in Indonesia. The existence of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections can be a manifestation of how the democratic process is mature and adult.
But of course to achieve that, there need to be several things that continue to be fought for, not just the existence of regulations and supervision from the organizers. However, the realization of cooperation from all parties, be it the government, all elements of society, political parties (parpol), security forces to the media is a very important key to creating a safe and peaceful Pilkada.
In relation to this, the Head of the Merauke Police Resort (Kapolres), Assistant Grand Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Leonardo Yoga appealed to all parties, including supporters of the regional head candidates who will run and sympathizers to continue to maintain security and order.
Because, a safe and conducive situation itself is something that is very dependent on the cooperation of all parties. Including, from the ranks of the security forces have a strong commitment to be ready to secure the entire process of the 2024 Pilkada.
Security also includes protecting the organizers, candidate pairs and the entire crowd from any disturbances that could disrupt the regional democratic celebration.
Meanwhile, the call to work together to realize security and peace in the 2024 Pilkada did not only come from law enforcement officials, but also from the media.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) of North Padang Lawas Regency, Tohong Pangondian Harahap, invited social media users not to easily spread fake news or hoaxes and not to be easily influenced by information whose source or credibility is unclear.
This vigilance is very useful to always maintain conduciveness ahead of the implementation of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections. It is very necessary to check and recheck in receiving, let alone then disseminating information, especially through social media.
All parties really need to create a safe and peaceful environment during the Regional Head Election process together. So that caution in receiving information is clearly an important key to preventing the spread of hoaxes.
On the other hand, the government through the Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) invites all parties to work together and synergize to ensure that the regional level democratic party can run safely and peacefully.
Head of BSKDN, Yusharto Huntoyungo said that in order to create a safe, smooth and democratic 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election, all parties including the Election organizers continue to focus on their duties, functions and authorities by acting neutrally and with integrity and guaranteeing the voting rights of every citizen.
The local government (Pemda) also provides full support so that the Pilkada is adequately facilitated. How the success and security of the Regional Head Election is certainly related to the maturity of the preparation of all aspects, which is a vital role of the Pemda.
Regional Head Elections are not only the responsibility of election organizers such as the KPU or Bawaslu. However, the role of the community is very important in maintaining a conducive atmosphere.
Education about the rights and obligations of voters must continue to be socialized so that the public has a good understanding of the importance of participation in the Pilkada. When the public is actively involved in the election process, they will also be more concerned about creating a safe and peaceful atmosphere.
Collaboration from all parties, starting from the government, security forces, all elements of society, political parties (parpol) to the media is the key to realizing a safe and peaceful 2024 Simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada).
When all parties are able to establish good cooperation, it is not impossible that this will reduce the potential for conflict, and then the regional political contestation event can become a democratic celebration that can truly be celebrated by all levels of society.
The cooperation must be built on the basis of mutual trust, transparency and a strong shared commitment to continue to maintain the unity and integrity of the nation. A safe and peaceful 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election is not only a victory for one party, but also a victory for the entire Indonesian nation.
With the spirit of mutual cooperation and collaboration, it is not impossible that all parties will be able to create a safe, peaceful and successful 2024 Simultaneous Regional Election.
