Smooth Transition from Jokowi to Prabowo: Commitment to Continue Development and High Public Support
Jakarta – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin stated that President Joko Widodo has asked all members of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet to prepare reports regarding their performance achievements during his two terms in office.
The report will be used as input and consideration in the process of the government transition from President Jokowi to the elected president, Prabowo Subianto.
“We provide suggestions to the new government, so that there is continuity,” said Vice President Ma’ruf.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin emphasized that Prabowo is ready to continue the development projects initiated by the previous administration.
“He said that because he (Prabowo) is also part of the current government and he will continue,” added Vice President Ma’ruf.
The Vice President is optimistic that the process of this government transition will go smoothly, considering the alignment of vision between Prabowo and Jokowi’s administration.
According to him, the smoothness of this process is supported by Prabowo’s commitment to continue the unfinished matters, ensuring the sustainability of various priority programs.
“So this will truly be a process of continuity, he follows what is currently happening, what has not yet been achieved. Thus, the transition will proceed smoothly,” added Ma’ruf Amin.
On the other hand, the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, also expressed his belief that this government transition is the best in Indonesia’s history. After attending the last Full Cabinet Meeting in IKN, he stated that the transition is going smoothly and has received full support from the public.
“This is the best government transition and it is going smoothly.” “The community fully supports Prabowo-Gibran as the successors of Mr. Jokowi,” said Budi.
The meeting was chaired directly by President Jokowi, accompanied by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin. All the ministers, including Prabowo Subianto, who also serves as the Minister of Defense and the elected President, were present. In the meeting, President Jokowi provided guidance on the completion of priority programs before the end of his term on October 20, 2024.
“The regulations needed to support the new government must be completed promptly so that Prabowo-Gibran can immediately start serving the public,” added Budi Arie.
President Jokowi also emphasized the importance of ensuring that public services continue to run smoothly during the transition period. This directive was delivered in front of all ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, with an emphasis that the transition must be effective.
“President Jokowi instructed all members of the KIM to fully support the elected president’s program.” “Ensuring that the government transition runs effectively so that public services are not disrupted,” said Budi.
He also added that the regulations needed to support the new government must be finalized promptly, so that Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka can begin their duties immediately after the inauguration on October 20, 2024.
