Palangka Raya – Fresh beautiful morning, green nature and heavy forest along the way, they accompany in travel to Sei Gohong tourism village. It took 45 minutes from capital city of Central Borneo, Palangka Raya. In the midday, arrived in Sei gohong.
Unique village, there is no modern house but full of rural. Green is in every side of village.
Custom traditional very seem. Sandung (rest place for Kaharingan religious, dayak belief), it seem in some side of this village.
Most of people work as farmer. They plant Lemba union and dragon fruit in front of their house. They take benefit of their house yard.
Village head of Sei Gohong, Medi Karahap said that Sei Gohong became Tourism Village since 2012 ago. “Mayor of palangka raya decided sei gohong as tourism village since 2012 ago,” said him to CIDISS, Monday (9/3).
He also stated that icon of sei gohong is rowing river in Kaja Island, Eco Village, Batu river, “not only these but also social activity such as taking benefit of house yard, planting dragon fruit and Lemba Union,”
He is very support of his people activity.
Meanwhile, one of villager, Katiyah, a transmigran from East Java succeeded planting Lemba Union. In the yard of her house, she plant a hundred lemba union plants.
She admitted she always sell her plant to customer every day. “Moreover, I can’t fulfill the order of customer because of limited stock,”
Most of her customer bought in big order, in a week; she can sell more than 100 kg.
She told that she not only sold her plant in Palangka Raya but also she sold it outside of palangka raya, like Banjarmasin (South Borneo), Sampit and other regency in Central Borneo.
She said that Lemba union has various benefit for cure. “Lemba union is red, and has many benefit for cure,”
Even there is not research yet about it, but most people trust to this benefit.
