Vice President Jusuf Kalla said, there is false view from several parties to Papua that touted as an area that is out of reach, and does not seem safe.
“Some say so. I say depends on where seen it, Papua near Maluku, Makassar, Manado, as if it was only in Jakarta Indonesia. There is a fallacy,” Kalla said, when presenting the material “youth solidarity strengthen the Homeland” at the XIV Congress KNPI , in Jayapura, Papua, on Thursday.
Attending the ceremony were, among others, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Tejo Edy Purdjianto, Minister of Forestry and Environment Siti Nurbaya, Governor of Papua Luke Enembe, and DPP Chairman KNPI Typhoon EN Rotorasiko.
Vice President Kalla emphasized the importance of the role of youth in promoting Indonesia, through various aktrivitas that leads to the unity and integrity, including in Papua.
According to him, the young man joined in KNPI should have a clearer vision again.
“If any political thought leaders KNPI, became governor and the legislature / parliament, the regent, or a minister, it would be destroyed (potential split),” he said.
Kalla call what should be done by KNPI for the nation, among others berpartisiasi advancing the welfare of the nation through research, technology, employment, and other areas of development.
“Thus, the progress of this nation depends mindset. It is expected that the next KNPI spawned intelligent thoughts for the betterment of the nation,” he said.
Related mindset, the Vice President said that the view of some people that Papua is not safe, it does not match reality.
Kalla said that the situation in Papua is relatively similar to other regions in Indonesia, such as communal living a safe and peaceful.
