CIDISS. The reign of Joko Widodo and Jusuf Kalla has reached the age of three. Since the beginning of his candidacy, Jokowi-JK has one priority of improving infrastructure development, one from the village.

This is as mentioned in the third Nawa Cita of building Indonesia from the periphery by strengthening the regions and villages within the framework of the unitary state. The strengthening of the villages is done by disbursing village funds directly from the State Budget (APBN). The realization of the village fund has already entered its third year. By 2015, villages receive Rp20.67 trillion from the state budget.

Then in 2016 rose to Rp46, 98 trillion and this year amounted to Rp60 trillion. Village Minister, Disadvantaged Areas Development, and Transmigration (Men des PDTT) Eko Putro Sandjojo said that for three years, the village has done a very massive development. This cannot be separated from the village funds that continue to increase every year.

In the past three years, at least 120,000 km of roads have been constructed, 1,960 km of bridges, 5,220 village market units, 5,116 units of boat moorings, 2,047 units of embungs construction, and 97,176 units of irrigation works. In addition, the construction of land holdings of 291,393 units, construction of clean water facilities 32,711 units, construction of MCK 82,356 units, building polyclinic village 6,041 units, construction of wells 45,865 units.

The availability of this infrastructure is needed to build connectivity to enhance competitiveness, build from the periphery, support food and water security, and improve the quality of life of communities in residential areas.

Similarly, the competitiveness of infrastructure as one of the pillars of the global competitiveness index, has also risen to rank 52th from the previous ranking of 60. The success is not only through physical infrastructure development, but also regulatory reforms that break down development barriers.

In terms of connectivity, the target of road and bridge infrastructure development until 2019 is to open the isolation and lower logistics costs through the addition of new road length of 2,600 km.

The development undertaken by the government can certainly encourage Indonesia to a better direction, however it takes the participation and support of the community to support the acceleration of development.
